in reality it is a very good idea. Europe has a union of their own. Its going very well in fact, thats why the US thought of and was thinking of this a while back. Unity makes greater power, the European countries have showed it and now the US is affraid they will gain power over them. So what better way than to unite with one of the last best places for someone to unite with, mexico. Canada as well but mexico has much more natural resources that the US can benifit from. The problem that a lot of ppl might find is that in order to form this union, all countries involved in the union must be equal in an economic sense. The US is going to have to help mexico quite a bit. This is where the reform comes into play. Everything is connected. ppl, this is a new era. Its not such a monopolistic world anymore. Change is good and change will come no matter what u ppl think. At the end, you will be greatful because if this change does not occure then youll be seein the US less superior than their Eropean fellows!!!

The North American Union is a fantasy. there is the SPP that's an settlement to a dialouge between the U. S., Canada and Mexico yet there is not any talks to forming a N American Union. The Superhighway would be stable for the U. S.. freeing up the pass of goods between all 3 international locations will benefit us as nicely as our pals. supporting the economic gadget of our pals is often stable coverage and could benefit us as nicely. And purely think of approximately each and all of the offramps and gas stations those automobiles will would desire to apply in the U. S.. which will bring about extra taxes paid to the line branch.

I think that one of the stupidest things I've ever heard. I haven't heard much more about this idea...other than it being an idea. You have to get off the superhighway for gas. The only good thing about the superhighway is that it would move illegal immigration to Canada instead. But Canada would either deport them back to Mexico, or send them to our borders and we would still have to deal with the problem. Of course, that gives the government yet another reason to raise taxes. So for people in the lower middle class like myself, be prepared to rebudget yourself yet again...for the 3rd time this year and it's only March for one...and I don;t even live on that side of the country so why should I have to pay for any of it anyway. If that is what Mexico and Canada want, make them pay for all of it. There are enough illegal Mexicans here that can build it. They might actually do something American and pay taxes.

I dont agree with it.I'm a truck driver and the Mexican equivelant of the DOT is a disgrace. The Mexican Govt is more corrupt than the USA or Canada, and at this time I would be afraid to drive a rig into Mexico, for many reasons, theft, liability, etc(plus any body who drives past the border is immediatly arrested, upon entering back into the US and their truck is impounded).Dont get me wrong, the last time I was in Juarez,I watched a truck driver turn and go down streets that made the colonial streets in Philedelphia seem like a picnic, and tha was with traffic,I was impressed, but Mexico really needs to get their sh!t together and they need to bring up the wages there(another reason that poses a threat to my trade)

its terrible give a inch and wait our government, and libs give them miles so more people are going to lose their jobs, and we will get to hear in a few years how Americans wont do truck driving jobs. if it wasn't so sad and true it would be funny . and there's more, people are going to lose their land and homes for this plan ,and the port in in Kansas City, Mo. will be mexican sovereignty. The beneficiaries of this NAFTA superhighway project would be the contractors who build it and the importers and outlet stores for the Chinese-manufactured goods that would come flooding in. The losers would be U.S. longshoremen, truckers, manufacturers and taxpayers.
The latter would pay the cost of building the highway in Mexico and the United States, both in dollars and in the lost sovereignty of our once-independent American republic.
Mexican truckers will be able to go anywhere once they cross the border. Since Mexico does not have stringent safety regulations, there is no way to verify the safety of Mexican trucks or drivers. i doubt that anyone will do background checks on drivers before they can enter the United States.
Nobody is going to check [what is really in that truck]. We evidently have a lot of people in the U.S. who have lost their minds.”
American Free Press has learned that a group of foreign companies, which currently lease a toll road in Indiana and are looking at buying up other highways across the country, has its eyes on the Trans-Texas Corridor.
we have a lot of roads right now who own by foreign companies. AMERICAN HIGHWAYS SOLD pretty creepy and crappy of our goverment to sell our highways that were paid for by us and will be controlled by foreign companies.

That's Barbara Streisand! CAFTA and NAFTA have resulted in an incredibly one-sided benefit to countries like Mexico. Mexico and other Central American countries continue to have barriers against US citizens doing business in their own countries.
For Free Trade to have worked, it would have meant "lassaize faire" ("hands off", for those of you in Rio Linda) by all countries involved. These 3rd world countries have shown that they are unwilling to practice true free trade, therefore NAFTA, CAFTA are shams that hurt Americans. All bush-bots know this when they are programmed that Mexico enforces trade barriers against our national interests. But bush-bots are told to spew the same propaganda again and again.
What do you think will happen to American Trucking wages if Mexican Truckers who get paid slave wages compared to their American counterparts are allowed to work in the US?
Bush and bots have shown they have no ability or will to control the border already. Give it up, NAFTA and CAFTA is bound to failure.
Bush bots are traitors.

I am very much against it. The plan is to have 'fast passes' to let 'trusted trade partners' through without ordinary border stops. Over the holidays I saw an article that one of these 'trusted trade partners' had been smuggling and was caught on a 'spot check'. VERY bad idea. There is a lot of money in what is smuggled over our border.
Also, it is an invitation to illegal immigration.
I am against SPP altogether, however, and wonder what makes it anything but a treaty that should have been submitted to Congress to vote on.

I think its a way for Bush to relinquish our sovereignity in place of a pan-american union. I think we are losing our freedom day after day and will one day live in a socialist land void of personal freedom.
