Incase you didn't know.. During that Top-15 run, Vickers suffered 1st and 2nd degree burns to his "bottom" and his feet. Also they said he took in ALOT of exhaust smoke and what not. Not many drivers would have drove through that I don't think. The only reason VICKERS did is because he's so far back in points, and Toyota needed a good finish.. Go check out the story on it -- http://jayski.com/cupnews.htm scroll down till you see Vickers suffers burns at Bristol; will test this week:

i think he deserves some respect for that, cant imagine how much that probably hurt. btw i love how the idiots on here just say he sucks, toyota sucks, and continue to whine about talladega last year. get over it whiners, that was months ago.

yeah, I just read about it a little while ago. Thank you announcers for not even mentioning it all day during the race.... There's been a few stories like it in the past where there were medical problems during the race and the driver many times jumps out of the car after a few laps and lets someone else race the car. I'm very impressed with a 15th place after that fiasco.

S*** happens at times, but to finish, let alone finish decently with those types of problems, Vickers has some toughness in him.

Even the fact that the car was so hot reminds us that the C O T really did resemble the pre modern era cars.
To stay in a car that was that hot on the floor took guts.
Good job Brian.
That's all I have to say about that.

What about Mark Martin racing with 2 broken ankles? He had to be lifted by pit crew members and put into his car before races.
And dont forget about when he tried to saw a cast off of his arm at DAYTONA!!!!!!!
The man deserves so much more respect than people give him.
Vickers is not even a shadow of a man MM is yet.

Good lord his team must be incompetent!Any race team worth its salt knows how to build a race car so that kind of thing doesn't happen. My hats off to Brian for tolerating it but his team needs to get its act together. That type of oversight is unforgivable.Someone should have his a$s chewed for allowing this to ever happen.

I love Vickers and felt so bad for him when I read that. But, he really didn't have a choice. He needs as many points as he can get. Determination. If he was still in the 25 with a guaranteed spot, I'm sure he would have parked it.

You would have to torture ME, too to get me in a rice-burning Toyota piece of junk.
