I am selling my car and I got an email that seems way to good to be true (offering my exact price without bargaining or even asking about details). Is there anyone I can take the email to so that they can look at it and advise me on my next step?

Let me guess.....He wants you to ship it to him, and is going to send you a check for the car and more than enough for shipping. He wants you to cash the check and return the rest to him with YOUR check. Right?

Scam!

Even money orders can be faked. Take ONLY cash.

I am an auto dealer, and this is a scam that they attempt to run on us all the time. Version 1 - The buyer sends you a money order or check for more than the amount and wants you to wire the difference back after you ship the car. The money order or check is a forgery and you are out the car and the cash you sent the guy. Version 2 - you get a money order or cashiers check from a foreign country that looks official and your bank will even take the deposit and may even credit your account. Then 8 - 10 days later the bank charges your account back, saying the foreign bank does not exist or if it does exist, the account the check is drawn on is a fake. This is a scam and you should not deal with anyone who does not offer you cash. Only meet at your bank and have a bank officer handle the transaction. Good Luck - Gary
