Why? Not even the Muslims (not saying all Muslims do this) who blow themselves and kill other ppl are talked about and insulted as much as Christians and Christianity have been and are. have you noticed? We've been martyred down through the centuries, and it seems in every single age the Jews have been up against some country or ppl who have tried to kill them or enslave them.
Even now you have Evolutionist and Ashiest who, it seems, take it upon themselves to discredit it and bash it down to the ground. The morals of the bible and of this Religion have been labeled as being High and Mighty and ppl try their best to find fault in the bible. In some places in China and Africa and all around the world you are jailed and even killed for being a christian.
Why do you believe in your heart of hearts that this is so?

Christians are to be the same as their Savior - Jesus Christ!

Jesus said, "Is the servant greater than his master? If the world hated me it will hate you also because you are not of the world even as I am not of this world."

Paul said, "All who will live godly in Christ will suffer persecution."

Jesus said, "Strait is the gate and narrow is the way that leads to eternal life and few there be that find it. Broad is the way that leads to destruction and many go in thereat."

The words of Christ above make it clear that most people will not accept the word of God. Now since God has put the knowledge of Himself in every man according to Romans Chapter 1 those who refuse to believe in God go against their
own conscience, and because this is a hard thing causing turmoil in them between what they know is right and what they actually do, the presence of godly men and women makes them very uncomfortable. They resent the fact that these men and women are doing what they refuse to do.

The resentment mentioned above is actually against God, and since true Christians represent God who is making demands on men and women to obey Him they take their hatred of God out on those who love Him and represent Him.

There is a paradox in all this. People laugh at their friends who are telling them to go to Hell everyday and assisting them
in going there, and hate those who are trying to help them to escape the wrath and judgment of God. I know this because I have lived on both sides of the issue. When I saw people coming down the street with gospel tracts I would curse and get as far away from them as possible. Now that I know what they really have to offer I am extemely glad to be one of them!

This will never change as long as God permits this wicked world to go on. It will end when God calls every human before
His throne on the day of judgment, and all those who wouldn't listen to and obey God will reap the reward of that rebellion.

Oh .... that is a simple one .....

When was the last time you go around seeing Buddhist telling people "Do you believe in the Buddha? If you don't you will go to hell?" :P.

Anyway, the things you mentioned are done by extremist ..... a bias view from the local television?

About the part where you get jailed or killed for being a Christian, did you have any proof to say so. Some of my best friends are in China, and they are staunch Christians, none of them are being killed or jailed. Please work your mind before your fingers... :P.

Ah ... that .... Notice, it is from a bias view. Try going to china to take a look yourself. There are stories like that running around, how is American taking it when you have organised groups that goes around telling people Christian is a whole bull of **** and the government is using this bull of **** to control the people. This is exactly what these people are trying to do. In China, it is a requirement that religious group register with the religion department of China, but these people blatantly refused to do that and criticising the Chinese government anytime they can, then put on a pitiful face when they are being caught and claimed oppression.

I had been to China, several times, and I witnessed these people shouting and cursing on the streets, the polices there did nothing until when they assemble a large crowd and criticise, this is when the crackdown started.

Read a bit on every view, do not only rely on bias books and papers, be there yourself to look. Use your eyes to see and not your ears only. If you had not been to China, Middle East or Africa, you do not know the actual situation there ..... I had, and believe me, it is not anything like the papers said.

Personally, I do not like the autocratic high handed method of the Chinese Government, but in this case both side are to be blamed.

"Why is Christianity the most attacked religion?......
We've been martyred down through the centuries, and it seems in every single age the Jews have been up against some country or ppl who have tried to kill them or enslave them."

are you for serious?

how DARE YOU

first and foremost how dare you lump this supposed, made up extreme persecution with all of the persecution that Jews have faced

Christianity is NOT Judaism

you can't take all the persecution against the Jews and claim it as your own and use that as part of your justification to back up this bullshit claim that Christians are the most attacked religion!

that is just utter stupidity!

ESPECIALLY when you look at the facts and realize that A LOT of the persecution that has taken place against the Jews have COME FROM CHRISTIANS

so not only are you claiming the persecutions as your own, you are in part claiming what came from you and saying it was in fact against you

talk about faulty logic

you know.....if any of you ever wonder why there are people that DO attack the Christian religion....the gall and stupidity of this question should make it all clear for you

First, Christianity isn't a religion; it's a group of religions, and even Christians can't decide among themselves who actually belongs. Many protestants only include Catholics when trying to show that Christianity is the largest religious group. If Catholics weren't there, the protestants would be far down on the list.

Anyway, as a group Christians are attacked the most because they are the largest group. Doesn't it make sense that the largest target gets the most hits? Another reason that Christians are attacked so much is because so many of them are so vocal and militant. How much criticism do you hear of Quakers in particular? The most you've heard of them in newspapers is when they stage demonstrations for peace. They aren't out trying to convert the world. They don't have TV shows where they blame 9/11 on homosexuals.

The point is this: the more people you insult, the more insults you'll have thrown back at you. If Christians were accepting of homosexuals, do you think homosexuals would fight back? If Christians acted reasonably toward science, do you think evolutionsts would still look down on them? If Christians would let atheists live in peace, rather than telling them they are foolish and going to hell, do you think athesist would be as vehement against them? If Pagans didn't have people coming up to them, pointing at their jewelry and saying "Jesus is better", do you think Pagans would still be indignant? (This last one happened to me as recently as last week).

The point is that many Christians are loud and insulting. I've never seen an Atheist on a soap-box in a public fair. I've never seen a Pagan preaching up and down a subway car. I've never seen an agnostic explaining how dangerous christianity was at a graduation ceremony. If you're going to be loud, public and intolerant of other views, you're going to catch some flack. Sorry, but that's the way it is.

Not too many people don't like the label of sinner or the concept of the 10 commandments. Think about it for a minute. The 10 commandments suggest property ownership - communists don't like that. Thou shalt not make any graven images - east indians and other idol worshippers don't like that. Thou shalt not have any other Gods before me, the One who has promised in these latter days to protect Israel - the muslims don't like that.
Thou shalt not murder - people who like to kill don't like that. Athiests and agnostics have been brainwashed by evolution and will not look upon the bible as an inspired book delivered to mankind for revelation and instruction. And on and on.

Because the Jews did not accept their messiah Constentine and some reformers persecuted the Jews.

first off the persecution complex does not suit you. it does not suit anybody that is the MAJORITY.

christians have made martyr's of themselves throughout history because they go into areas where they are not welcomed or wanted. and agitate kings and locals untill they are killed. they attempt to FORCE their religion everywhere that they go. not just to gain acceptance among the locals but to force the locals to convert.

now if i came into your house and said that you will worship Cerunuuos from now on or i would kill you and your family, enslave your sons and frocibly marry your daughters. what sould you do. you would fight back. and that is what people throughout history have done against Christianity they have fought against a flood of Convert or die fanatics.

christians have spread their religion by blood and war everywhere that they go. and lately they simply have switched tactics and are useing money as their driving force. every time they build a school in africa they build a church beside it. every time they build a soup house or a clean water source they make damn sure to include their religion to win and to sometimes force converts.

and they continue to claim that they are the most persecuted people on the planet. well if that is the case it is due to the sheer numbers of christians that live in communities that do not want them and still attempt to preach their religion to people that they know are hostile to them.

they claim persecution on every little thing. if they are not treated as kings and queens they claim persecution. it they are treated just as everyone else in a country (AMERICA) they claim that the laws that stop them from persecuting everyone else are persecuting them.

how much of this world has been destroied by christianity. how many sacred groves in ireland now have churches built on top of them. how many sacred lands in america have been populated by people that do not hold them sacred. how many Inipi were smashed and burned. how many african tribes were wiped out. what of the INCA and Myans entire cultures destroied by the christian invasion.

and you claim to be persecuted...honey when you are persecuted. you are DEAD. and thus have no voice on an internet forum. if you are not dead you are a second class citizen or a slave and have no rights to speak your mind.

i suggest that you read some history and learn what persecution is before you take that mantle for yourself.

Lots of answers here. Jesus said "I am the way the Truth and the life. No one can get to the father accept thought me.".

Most people can't handle the fact the they must give up control of their lives. That is really hard to do.

Another problems that 'We' Christian have, it that we in some ways have been bought and paid for by the Religious right.

We only seem to care about what's happening in people's bedrooms without caring about what's happening in the boardrooms.

We vote for people who say we stand against abortion but never require them to DO anything.

Christianity is not the most attacked religion. But in this country it's the one most likely to attack my freedom from religion through our secular government.

Have you heard of the intelligent design movement? It's trying to force religion into the public classroom, even though Evolution is proven by science and i.d. is virtually rejected by every scientist who understands the scientific method.

I debate to protect my freedom. The same would be true if I lived in an islamic country. I support freedom for everyone to practice whatever loony belief system they choose, as long as nobody gets hurt.

"The morals of the bible and of this Religion have been labeled as being High and Mighty and ppl try their best to find fault in the bible."

My question is how can you NOT find problems with rules in the bible that order people to stone adulterers, women and gays? How the heck is that moral at all?

No religion can arrogate to itself the sole rights to God. God is infinite and there are as many paths to Him as there are seekers. All religions are essentially the same.
Hinduism is the only religion perhaps that does not find any meaning in conversions...for this very reason. Also it recognizes all paths to God as valid and reasonable. God is within us. Religion is just one way of realizing this great truth within us. Labels do not matter so do forms and names.
What matters is the values we cultivate and the kind of life we lead. Religions and teachers are only an aid to achieve this end. They don't serve any purpose once the goal is reached.

"Because the Jews did not accept their messiah Constentine and some reformers persecuted the Jews."

no, they persecuted the jews because they were evil. it had nothing to do with rejecting a messiah who never arrived.

"Thou shalt not have any other Gods before me, the One who has promised in these latter days to protect Israel - the muslims don't like that."

neither do the christians, because they have another god in the form of a man.
