If there is a picture on a website that you would like to print off, could you print it off and then blow it up? Would you need to print it off on picture paper or what is the correct way of doing it?

I would put it on a disc and take it to one of those photo centers where you can put in your disc and print different sizes. They have it at drug stores and department stores.

But just be careful with copyright if they are not your own images.

Most images you copy and save from the web are 72 dpi (dots per inch). If you try to enlarge a 72 dpi image it will get that blurry "lego" look, which is called pixilation. For an image to look good when it is enlarged, it must be higher than 72 dpi. The industry standard for printing is 300 dpi, although if you're careful you can work with lower dpi.

Your best bet is to go to Google's image search. There, at the top of the screen, is a drop-down menu where you can specify that you wish to see only high quality or medium quality images. Once you've found a high quality image (which will be quite large) you can save it to your computer and manipulate it. **NOTE: When clicking on the small "thumbnail" images and saving them to your computer, be sure to save the picture from the actual site it comes from, not from the thumbnail. If you click "save image" from the thumbnail, you are only saving that tiny thumbnail image, not the actual picture that has a higher dpi.**

If you have graphic software, you can also do some limited work with standard 72 dpi images by going into the file size menu and increasing the image's dpi there. This will drastically increase the file size and won't work miracles, but you can get away with a little enlargement.

Good luck!

First of all, unless it is a high-quality image, anything on the web isn't going to be good enough or clear enough to print at a descent size. You could enlarge it, but it may be very pixelated. I suggest trying to find the high-quality image.

first, what do you mean by "blow up"? do you mean that when you print a picture it will blow up in a paper? is that it? anyway, there are so many ways to print a paper. if you like to place your picture in a MS Word, you may copy the picture in a webiste then paste it in your MS Word. just right click on your mouse in the pic you like then click copy. after that you go to MS Word, right click again then click paste. then that's all, click the file menu then click "PRINT".

another way is you right click again your mouse pointing on that picture then click "save your picture as.." then save it to your own folder. to print it, go first to your folder where you saved your picture then just click the print "icon". and it wil automaticaly will print.

i hope you get what i am trying to explain on you. ok, good bye my dear friend! have a nice day! ^^

If it's a good quality picture you can enlarge it in just about any software and print it that way.

If the picture is of poor quality, enlarging it will only pixelate it and make it look really bad.

I think what some people are trying to express is that the proper term is "enlarging", not "blow up".

I would suggest picture paper if you are planning to bring it somewhere to have it enlarged.
