Training is the key to becoming a good boxer, got to agree with Bundini and Santana on that. Great is something else. The "greats" did something better than everyone else could, and it lifted them above the rest. Ali's speed and grace, Frazier's left hook, Forman's right cross, the Larry Holmes jab, all the greats had something the elevated them above the rest, the difference between a good fighter and a champion. No amount of training could give another fighter Holyfields heart, or Roy Jones Jr.'s reflexes, their greatness was God given as much as Marcianio's indomitable will or Ray Robinson's adaptability. Greatness was more than training.
