Maybe I'm crazy, but I used to love that lovely yellow dust. It was a visual affirmation that Spring had arrived. Perhaps it helped that yellow is my favorite color and Spring my favorite season. Also I outgrew my allergies a long time ago.
I moved back to the state where I grew up in December of 2005, so this is the second year without a saffron veil on everything. To tell you the truth I always thought it was the work of fairies and garden divas, which added to the charm.
I hope this gives you another perspective, or you can just say I'm crazy.

It is pollen from mostly Pine trees which are everywhere in Georgia. When it rains a lot of it will go away...until then we just have to live with it.

Georgia is one of the states that is covered with trees. The green dust you find on your car, windows, ground, etc... is in fact pollen. It is mostly common during Late Feb. March, April and May.

I live in Georgia and we hate pollen here. It's everywhere and we can't wait till it rains so it will wash away. It's horrible if you're allergic to it. It gets in our houses also.

Yep! Atlanta and areas north have LOTS of flowering trees blooming right now. It's crazy! I had to use my windshield wipers to see to drive. Folks everywhere are allergy ridden. I wouldn't bother sweeping the porch or cleaning the car for a while. Maybe do a rain dance?
