I am going to meet with someone with financial aid tomorrow, but I just feel like it might not be possible. I screwed around when I was younger and only have like 12 hours going into this whole thing. I am almost 24, divorced, mom of 1, taking a new job in 2 weeks that I am sure wont get me anywhere in 5 years. Is there any hope for ME?????

Yes there is more than hope for you. You can achieve anything if you set your mind to it. I am a single mother of twin daughters and I work full time and I going to school part-time. I will receive my Bachelor's degree in May. In September I will be in my first year of law school, and I am ten years older than you. If I can do it anybody can. The key is to not give up and just focus on how much better you will feel about yourself when it is all over. I know how proud my parents and children will be to see me walk across that stage in May. I won't be satisfied until I receive my law degree. Like I said the key is for you to believe in what your doing and know that the end results are worth it.

Yes! Just being brave enough to explore your options shows that you can do this! File a FAFSA, talk to financial aid and see about what free day care you might qualify for. Enlist the help of anyone who owes you a favor to help you. Don't try to tackle too much at once. If you can only take one class a semester, that's better than none! Don't worry about how old you'll be when you get your degree.... how old will you be in that length of time, if you don't get your degree???

Don't be afraid to ask questions... and keep asking until you understand. Apply for scholarships, and take on loans if they're federally subsidized. You won't have to pay them back until you're done with school (it will also be a great incentive to finish school).

Pick a career field and stick with it. Don't change your mind too many times. You're past the luxury of chaning majors too many times now that you have a child to support.

You can indeed do this. You'll need lots of help and lots of determination. Talk to other moms on campus who are in your shoes. There are LOTS of them! Don't give up and be good to yourself.

Good luck!

the (husband of vivanna ) yes there is hope i was a single father and you think you have it bad before i remarried and started my second family i raised three children by my self worked and went to collage full time. i had a 3.8 grade average in collage to but. but try and find someone to babysit your kids when your a single dad of 20 something. not my daughter no way can she baby sit for you!!! if not help from family it would have been impossible for me. but finding a baby sitter for you would be a breeze. just try and find a friend daughter to help you with you kids while you are at collage. or an elderly lady. let them understand you can't pay a whole lot as you don't make that much money. it will work if you find the right people to help. i have a degree and raised my first children until they were married. and then a few years later i remarried a girl in her late 20 and we have one child and one on the way. believe me anything is possible. look at me

Yes, many people, It was worth going to school, It can be do9ne with a job. Many classes can be taken online. My three grandsons are doing that now. I think you have to take one or two semesters before you do online but you can do it!! Maybe mom or a friend or ex can help with babysitting. Please do it, you're getting cold feet, don't be afraid, just do it.

don't give up!! if you feel like going to school, there are ways for you to go. financial aid can help you some, and there are work study programs. if you plan on going to school, plan on maintaining a 3.0 gpa or above, because if you plan on getting anything lower, then it's just a piece of paper.
