the #1 thing is walk him even if you have a big back yard then you can play fetch but don't use a stick use a toy or a ball a stick can be bad on the teeth and gums because of splinters you can play hide and seek with some breeds or keep away it's not really hared to entertain a dog

Get one of those balls that you fill with kibbles. Get the type that is rubber soft -- not the hard plastic.
Depending on how good the dog is at kicking the "puzzle" around it'll keep him occupied for at least an hour. If he plays with it in the house tho' you'll find kibble under all the furniture. That keeps the dog occupied for the NEXT hour trying to reach 'em. LOL

Toys, take a walk, go to the park, a stick and a lawn, get another dog for a friend. But the puppet show trumps my response.

1. Give him a bone to chew on for about a couple hours.
2. Play with him for a couple minutes, by using dog toys...for example..tug of war with old, but clean, socks. ( my dog used to do that all the time ) My dog even plays with empty water bottles.
3. Take him/her for a walk to a nearby park, or field.
Hipe this helps!

ha ha to that answer above me.
BONES BONES BONES
something to chew on, a super long rawhide with knots, or those ball things that you can put treats inside and they work like crazy trying to get them out. My lab is pretty big though, and she knocks stuff over trying to get her treat. It keeps her busy for a hour.
A tip- DONT buy the long rope toys. The dogs pull strings out of them eventually and you'll be constantly pulling them out of her teeth and throat

get a couple of Kongs, and fill it with stuff like peanut butter. Better yet, one of my dogs favorites---fill the Kong with chicken noodle soup, wrap it in plastic wrap --then freeze it. When its forzen solid, remove the plastic wrap and give it to your dog. As the soup filling slowly thaws, your dog enjoys a tasty and healthy treat!

toys that make noise, but remember, you are the entertainment. can't you tell the dog thinks you're the most interesting thing on the planet. or a walk, or go bye- bye in car.
it's good to let them chew, it makes them feel like they are doing something. not on anything but doggie chews though.

Buy a Kong and either stuff it with cookies, peanut butter, or freeze chicken broth inside. It will keep your dog busy for quite some time!!
