I'm 20 years old and getting married and have been saving up to take my fiance to Hawaii for our honeymoon, though I've never traveled much before. I hate to say that I'm ignorant on basically all that must be done, from pre-travel procedures to the airport to the destination and all. If anyone out there understands what must be done well, I would truely appreciate your help lol. Thanks!

I would suggest you check a site where you can get airfare and hotel stay in a vacation packages. Several sites deal with that. Those sites being www.orbitz.com, www.expedia.com, www.priceline.com, or www.travelocity.com

I came to hawaii twice before I moved here and I have to say that Oahu is by far the best place for tourists. There are lots of tourists around and lots of people who would be glad to point you in the right direction if you get lost, downtown honolulu or wakiki is where you would probably like to stay, it is a city so it is busy but it is close to everything. The ala moana center, the wal mart, mcdonalds, red lobster, the beach, and that's pretty much where all the hotels are. There is also a very complete bus system and for 2 dollars you can get on the bus and go anywhere, there are also free trolleys.

I moved to Oahu about 3 weeks ago and have been loving every minute of it. It's a very fun place to come on vacation, also lots of tourists like to visit the pearl harbor site when they come to Oahu. I would highly recommend it. If you need to know other sites to see on vacation feel free to email me and i'll send you links. Hope that helps and Congratulations on your marriage!

I live in Maui, and I have to say I think you will like it much more. It is very small, but there is a lot more to see than on Hawai'i a.k.a."the big island".

•HAWAI'I has controlled erupting volcanoes. It isn't good to breathe all the vog though. It is the biggest island, but it doesn't have much. You are lucky that there is a Walmart there! It is mostly dried up lava taking up all of the area.

• MOLOKAI is very small, not much to do. It is dangerous to go into some of the oceans because they have stonger tide that can "drag you all the way to Oahu" and you won't make it all the way to Oahu. It is very friendly there, but there is only one super market. When I visited there, the only super market was closed by the time we arrived, and the next day was a holiday, so they weren't open. We had to find snacks from a Wine and Spirits store.

• OAHU is very nice, it is my favorite island, it is smaller than Maui, but busier than Maui. There are bunches of stores, and a 4 story mall! [Ala Moana Center] It is very nice if you love the city. ..but once again, it is very busy.

• Maui is very beautiful, it is not to small, and not to big. The only place you can see the sunrise is on Haleakala [House of the Sun] -which is a mountain. Our three biggest stores are Walmart and K-mart, and Costco. We have a Safeway an Starmarket also. Costco and K-mart are right next to the Kahului airport, which is quite convientent. We also have waterfalls, in Hana. But make sure you get up early, it's a long drive.

First off, congratulations!

As far as travel goes, it's pretty easy to come to Hawaii. Just buy your ticket and show up at the airport at least 2 hours before your scheduled departure with your id. If you are coming on your honeymoon immediately following your wedding (before your wife can change her id as the wedding certificate she needs to change it will take a while), make sure you purchase her ticket with her maiden name (as her id will have to match the name on her ticket for her to board the plane).

Since you are a virgin traveller, I would suggest you stay on the island of Oahu as there are many, many touristy types of things to do and provides the best infrastructure for tourists in general.

As far as the actual travelling goes, the link I've included gives you general information on what you can and cannot travel with but you should check with your specific air carrier for any additional information that might be useful for you.

Your best bet and where you can get a lot of help is to VISIT your Local PROFESSIONALTRAVEL AGENT. They will be able to help you out with all the details from the time you leave your doorstep all the way to Hawaii and back. You can ask them anything to make your Travel worry free. And the best thing about this is their service are FREE... I would recommend TRIPLE A or Costco Travel Agencies if you have one available close to your place.

HAPPY HONEYMOON

hi.. i work in expedia.com.. you can always call us to answer your questions. regarding travel docs mostly we offer electronic tickets so no need to worry about paper tickets. right after you will make the booking we will send you the confirmation and just bring the copy of it at the airport with your government issued photo id. You actually don't need a passport. And you must be at the airport 2hrs before dept time. if you have questions you can shoot me an email

I normally desire floor shuttle, yet for long journeys, air shuttle is plenty quicker, so i will use it if i'm in a great hurry. i've got moved from the East Coast to the West Coast, and any such holiday takes approximately 4 or 5 days by vehicle, if i do no longer end long everywhere, yet there is plenty exciting ecosystem alongside the way that I omit by air shuttle.

Contact a travel agent in your area - they can probably get you very similar prices to what you will find on-line and they will be able to create a package for you with everything you need from start to finish.

There's really nothing to it. Show up at the airport 1 hour before your flight, keep all liquids in your checked luggage, then get on the plane.
