My boyfriend of 14 years ( we have 2 kids) broke up with me 3 months ago. Well I am doing ok. I manage to keep busy and not think about him to much. He already has another girlfriend. My problem is at night I dream about him, everynight. I dream of him leaving me, or letting me get close to him again. Then he gets mean and says I already have someone else. They seem so real. I have even cried in my sleep, my son had to wake me up. I can't understand why I seem to be able to not think about him all day, but but at night I do. Has this ever happened to you? Why?

Probably because it hurts that he has moved on already. 14 years is a long time - it might be a bit much expecting yourself to forget about him so quickly. Pick up a good self-help book on grieving. You really do need to go through all the steps of mourning before you can truly feel good again. I used to convince myself anytime there was heartache that I was too strong to "indulge" myself and that I need to forget about it and move on. While you don't want to allow yourself to wallow (you don't sound like the kind of person who would), you need to mourn the ending of this relationship so that you can truly and completely let go and move on. It all takes time. Be kind and patient with yourself.

oh thats reallly tough. well, u dream about him bcuz even though u keep tellin urself ur over him n are pushing urself not to think about him in the day, u have no selfcountrol at night and ur not over him. but really, hes a retard for leaving u after 14 yrs together and two kids! just give it time until ur completely over it n the dreams will stop.

After spending so much time with someone it is natural for them to be part of your thoughts. The fact that you are suppressing the thoughts of him during the day may make it so that you need to think more about him when you can not suppress the thoughts of him - in your dreams.

some say that dreams are the subconcious way of dealing with unresolved emtoins. i think it means that he hurt u bad and you are still not over what he did to you. i think you are going to do fine by yourself and one day you will forget him and even find someobdy better. its going to be ok *Hugs*

wow!! one night i had deep dream about my ex and it seemed so real we hadnt talked in 8 monthe the in the middle of the night he called me! i asked him why,,,and he said he was thinking of me,,it was wierd i think its called karma.. you may not be completly over him yet.

yes.....and i know exactly what u are going through.iwell i liked this guy and he sort broke up with m3e and now hes all i worry about think about and talk about.......and he even pops up in my dreams.hunny that just means your still in loe with him.and that is ok
