# 1. For no particular reason, hug your mate (if your mate is not available, write your mate or any loved one a sweet note.)

# 2. Then, at random, flip open your Bible, or a dictionary, or your favorite book.

#3. Then read that particular page that was randomly selected, and see if the words on that page apply to your recent thoughts, activities, or concerns.

#4. Of course, please respond to this question by giving us the applicable words found on that randomly selected page.

(I am so afraid that no one will take the time to run this experiment with me. I invented this experiment about 10 years ago, my Mom used to get a kick out of it.)

Dear "baron" - I am not talking about, asking a question and then looking in the Bible for the answer. - When I discovered this, it was more of a magic trick. - no disrespect intended.

Dear "ET" - you did just fine. - Improvising is a sign of abstract reasoning.

Dear "sept" - Sure you can do it anytime in the future, but more than once a day gets rather blurry ,

but don't forget #1, remember Hug your mate or any loved one, or at least a short sweet note to one of them, if you are alone at the time.

3. First quote on the page:

"I have firmly resolved to bite the dust, when my time comes, with a minimal of medical assistance, and up to then I will sin to my wicked hearts content." Einstein to his daughter Elsa, 1913.

Maybe I did the experiment wrong. My husband's deployed, just talked to him on the phone, so I figured that would count as the hug/note.

The words are: "I don't know if you have ever thought what a rare thing flame must be in the absence of man and in a temperate climate."

It seems to fit with my husband being gone and all. If I really read something into it.

--The Time Machine, H.G. Wells

That was a fun experiment!

I need to skip this one :P

ok...I didn't have my favorite book with me but I have an assignment due tommorow and have to read "Veiled Sentiments" so thats what I randomly opened.

The first part is a continuation of the previous sentence so I'm not counting it. But after that, there is part of a Egyptian poem"
"Don't blame those who hurt you just say it was not meant to be..."
It applies because in my household if you do something everyone tries to throw the blame on eachother and its so tiring. I agree with this poem.....what will pointing the blame on someone accomplish? What had to happen has already happened; no use in fighting

Sorry I didn't do it perfectly, but I tried :P

OK, this is the result of my experiment.

Since I am at my office this moment, I texted love notes to my husband, who is right now in his own office too.

I open the dictionary and the first word I read is 'harvest.'...

Yes, I am thinking of our onion farm that needs to be harvested 1 or 2 weeks after

Ha ha ha ! Can I do this as many times as I wanted to?

Now, may I ask you. Could we have a good harvest of our onions?

So, I called my wife on my cell phone and told her that "I just called to say 'I love you'." Actually, I did explain your goofy "experiment" and said it was as good an excuse as any to call her and say that I love her.

Then I randomly opened my Bible in the drawer on the left and it landed on Job 6:9-10--"Even that it would please God to destroy me; that he would let loose his hand, and cut me off! Then should I yet have comfort; yea, I would harden myself in sorrow: let him not spare; for I have not concealed the words of the Holy One."

I have a B.A. and M.A. in English and I've a little difficulty connecting one to the other, except that our marriage is centered on Jesus Christ and we have suffered some things specifically because we would neither conceal nor deny the words of the Holy One. And we're okay with that.
