A way for some to make money off of *you.*

Tarot, on a simple level is a meditative tool. There is, depending on the particular deck chosen, a great deal of symbolism. It can come from many mystery traditions including ethnic sources, the Qaballah, Masonic symbols, etc.

The more you know about the particular sources, the more meaning you might find in the cards.

Whle some might disagree, I think the "power" of the cards comes only from our own minds. The better we understand them, the more insight we find in our particular situations. It's like opening the Bible to a random page for insight into a situation. While some might say they are seeking inspiration from God, this act itself is mere divination. When you open a random page in the Bible and start reading, you will undoubtedly (unless you open some dry section in Numbers, etc.) find something which will remind you of your present situation. That's what the cards do. Each card has enough meaning to make it simultaneously vague and pertinent. When we meditate on the strugle, we analyze our problem from various points of view. The cards separate us from our raw emotion and allow us to explore our issues from an external viewpoint.

Sometimes we'll have cards come up that strike particular chords, and somehow experience readers do this more often. Is it some psychic ability? Perhaps. Then again, one might also wonder if the person doing the reading is reading more the person, the cards, or perhaps both. I'll leave that up to you to decide.

The tarot is a book of knowledge that derives its name from the words torah and rota. It is a map of the mind and the universe, as above so below. It rotates both ways. It connects with other mystical systems such as astrology, Kabbalah and numerology. I read it as a book of wisdom, I prefer the I Ching for divination.

Ok lets get this stright, any "Spirit tool" is not evil..is there any proof that tarot cards are evil? any proof that pendulums evil?

I could say the samething about the "bible" being evil!

Of course I don't believe in evil NOR the devil for that matter.

those tools are for "guidance" and talking to the spirits.

you say that "witchcraft" is evil? ahhhh that brings me back to "witch hunting" days. people are "closed minded" about our relgion..they "watch" to many horror movies and tv shows/books..lol i could give a hoot about your "bible" we live and relgion "defrenty" from your so called "bible" and your "god".

get a life people and stop brain washing others who has defrent "relgion's" then your's. (rolls eyes)

Spirit Communication is not a game. Creation is full of Life, made of spirit. They can bond with us in telepathic and empathic ways. And they do not all have our best interests at heart.
People make too much of divination. Readings are done at that moment in time. And tell us what will
happen if we stay on the same path we are on.
But if we make a conscious choice to stop doing what it is that might get us in trouble. The outcome will change. YOU SEE!

Negative Mitzvah 31
You shall not predict the future by any method of divination

Deuteronomy 18:10 "There must not be found among you... one who practices divination"

This is a type of sorcery that uses a stick, belt, pebbles (or some other object) and then by tapping, measuring, throwing, or peeling the object, the individual claims he can predict the future.

It is forbidden to practice this type of sorcery. It is forbidden to practice this type of sorcery which is called "divination".

Negative Mitzvah 32
You shall not use Astrology, or any other method of reading the stars to predict the future.

Deuteronomy 18:10 "There must not be found among you... a soothsayer"

We are forbidden to use Astrology or any other method of reading the stars to predict the future.

We should however, be careful not to confuse Astrology with Astronomy.

Astronomy, is the study of the many stars and heavenly bodies - the solar system, and the many galaxies. Not only is this study permitted, it can also help us sense the wonderful and extraordinary beauty of creation.

However, Astrology claims that the movement of the stars in the heavens effects our lives. Though this belief is common, the Torah tells us that our lives are in HaShem's hands. The movement and function of the many suns and planets are determined and designed by their creator, HaShem. They do not act on their own, nor do they have any power over us. Information gathered from their movement must not be used to try to determine the future.

Included in this Negative Mitzvah is an additional warning against practicing magic.

This forbids us to trick people into seeing things that are not actually true (using optical illusions and related tricks).

It's no more evil than any other tool (or book). The intent behind it could mean it might be used for malicious purposes but that's a *very* bad idea since it'll only rebound back to the user.

When I read for people it's to give them people or situations to look out for. It has also come up that I've mentioned something that has caused them to rethink an event.

And don't let anyone tell you that they can tell your future. It's not written yet!

tarot cards is not considered Holy inspiration. It is considered to be of fortune tellers using black magic. It talks about it in the Bible. Your guidance according to the Bible is to be obtained from the Lord through prayer and holding reverence for him and following Jesus' teachings and the Holy Spirit.
