Do you like your hairstyle and this is just your friend giving you a hard time about it? Because you should just go with what makes you happy - friends aren't always right.
Anyway...if you do want to change your hairstyle, a quick and easy way is to just attack it with a hair straightener - CHI is a good brand, but if you don't want to pay the $$$, just look for a hair iron with actual ceramic. (It heats quicker, lasts longer, and does less damage to your hair).
Simple tip, but important. Wash your hair thoroughly and then use only about a nickel-sized amount of conditioner. Let the conditioner sit in your hair for about a minute or more (listen to music and let an entire song play through if you can't time properly) and then rinse it out with cold water - I know it's painful, but it keeps damage to a minimum and doesn't wash out all of the conditioner.
Blow dry less, but if you must, start at the roots and focus less about the ends - you'll dry out your hair and cause unnecessary damage if you dry the ends first, and you only have to focus on the roots if you want a straight, smooth look.
Use less products - that's what makes hair frizzy in the long-run and damages, causing split ends.
Sleek ponytails are great and easy - you decide which suits your face better - high or low.
Another good idea could just be a new haircut - invest in a really nice salon and tell them that you don't want to be dramatic, but you need a new look. Before you go, make sure you've gotten recommendations or else looked at their portfolio so that you know you'll get what you want out of your haircut.

What I Do, Is just ask a QUESTION on this, asking if anyone knows any good hairstyles. Heres a couple tips from me... If you have short hair, put a hairclip in it, and put it up in a small ponytail. If you have medium hair, you should put your hair in a bun with some little hair strands in the front. If you have long hair, put it up in A clip, and put one of those gemstone headbands on. I tried it before, and it works just great. I also recomend that you use a special kind of shampoo, for example... If you have frizz, look for a kind that treats frizz. Same with poofy hair. Hope that this works. You can try looking up some hairstyling tips up on google. Here is this website....

I think looking at beauty books could be a good start. See what styles you would like to see yourself in and then go to a stylist to show them the styles you picked out so they can give you a suggestion of the best look for you!

First off lets step back and review this "friend". If she really wants to help you invite her over and have a hairdo party. Maybe invite some other friends over too. Grab some magazines and play around with some styles. If she's not game grab a new friend. Good Luck!!

1. They should not judge you. Good manners dictate that people shouldn't make negative remarks.
2. Make an appt. with a salon/stylist you like. Schedule a session where she can teach you how to do your hair yourself. She will demonstrate styling methods, recommend tools and products. :)

If you really want a change, go and get your hair done. After your stylist cuts your hair, she will style it and tell you how she did it so you can do the same thing at home.

either ignore her if you don't think you have a bad hair day or face her and tell her how you feel when she tells you that and if you do feel like you are having a bad hair day then maybe try to brush it a different way

this is what i do.
1. In the mornin wet your hair.
2. Use a blow dryer and dry it all the while pushing your hair down.
OR
You can tie it at night and then in the mornin it will have this wavy look. You can straighten it too. :D

well, i dont think that friend is being very considerate, and maybe if you have the courage you can ask the guy what he thinks...and i think you should be liked for a little more than just hair, though it wouldn't hurt to try (shrug?)
