You have a prize there. No danger of being beaten on or killed in an auto accident. He will probably have a steady job and be able to provide for a family.
Depending on how much you drink, you may be the one with the problem. If you think he should get drunk with you then he is the one who should dump you. His is the better and stronger character and perhaps you should try being like him. If you find it difficult for you, for him not to drink, then dump him. He will be better for it to not have you around being unhappy with his not drinking.
What a twit you are!

When I started going out with my boyfriend he drank loads now he doesn't drink at all. I find it really good and I have managed to give up drinking unless im round at a friends. What is really so good about drinking? A hangover and blurred memory of the night before.
So maybe you should try and give up drinking as well and be supportive of his decision.

Over the years I have treated many emotionally or physically abused women (and some men) whose spouses drank too much. I do not recall anyone seeking help because their husband or wife DIDN'T drink. Let me say you are very, very lucky to have found a mature young man with enough common sense and self esteem not to follow the herd. I hope you stay around him long enough to appreciate this.

This means he can drive you to parties and drive home, my girlfriend does not drink and it has reduced my drinking, but she is really nice and understands that I like a drink when I meet up with friends so is totally fine with it!
Meet him half way and have days off from the drink when with him.

why do you find it difficult?
To make it easy stop drinking and be like him...I reckon you can't force someone to drink and in a relationship you need to have compromises or atleast respect his choice...It shouldnt be a problem

maybe ur bf could have just as much fun without the drink.
ur bf might get weird when he drinks.. he could be agressive or tearful or just plain stupid and perhaps he doesnt want to embarrass himself or you by getting in a state like that.
