Today I had to take my puppy back to the shelter. She has had parvo and I've been trying to treat her at home with the Vet's supervision. Sunday and yesterday Brandy was improving. She was taking the forced food, water, more steady on her feet, the vomitting had virtually stopped and yesterday she didn't have direahha for the first time in a week. This morning when I went to check on her, I found a very weak pup who could barely stand. I took her out and it took a lot of effort just to pee. I feed her and put her on her pillow. I tried again to take her out and she couldn't even stand. When I would pick her up her head would just roll over and dangle. I gave her a little more A/D and Pediolite, put her on her pillow then went out for an hour. Upon returning, I found Brandy had rolled off her pillow & was on the floor with her head back at an high angle and she was weakly paddling her paws. I knew then time was up & did what I had to. Does anyone have a clue what went wrong here?

Sorry this happened to you. Parvo has a high mortality rate regardless of treatment. You and your vet were clearly not going for the all out no holds bared agressive treatment (IV's) which might have had a higher sucess rate but even then might have failed.

this could have EASILY been distemper. or if you overfed her after she was "well" she most likely relapsed. this is very common and is always worse
