If you missed a dose by more than just a few hours, then just go back to your normal schedule. Do not take the missed pills. Make sure to let your doctor know that you have missed some pills if you are having blood work done within the next 6 weeks. So you don't forget in the future, get a pill organizer and put the weeks dosage out. That way, if you see a pill still in the day's spot, you'll know you forgot. You might even want to set an alarm so you don't forget or switch to a bedtime schedule, where you'll take it just before sleeping.

I've done that. I went off mine for a few weeks. Just start it back up again one each day. Double check with your doctor if you want to be sure that's what he or she wants you to do. As far as medications go, pretty much every medication I know says not to double up to make up lost time. Just resume the normal routine if you miss one.

Do not double up on your medication. Start over fresh. Take your medication as prescribed. Never take more medicine than the doctor says to take without calling him/her first.
