I know what dog is which and that is a pit bull. Not a mix with something else.

Hi there I am a Vet Technition and hope to help! After looking at the pictures you had posted my best guess as far as breed would be Pit with some Shar-Pei in there somewhere. I would estimate that one parent was full Pit and the other was a Pit/Shar-Pei mix. Typically, Pits are not as "wrinkly" as your puppy. Sometimes it is hard to determine breed when dogs are so young. Your best bet is to wait until your baby is a little older to see what traits surface. Regardless, your puppy is precious and absolutely adorable!!! Enjoy her!! Good luck :)

She looks like a shar-pei more than a pit, definately a mix. If you paid for a purebred pit, you could talk to the person you got her from and ask for at least a partial refund. Were the parents on the premises when you got her? Pretty gal, what an adorable face...love her no matter what she is.

You can easily answer your own question: does she has any blue spots in her tongue or gums? If she does, definitely she has shar pei in her. The blue spots in shar-pei mixes stay for 2 or 3 generations, so even if her grandpa was the shar pei, she still should have some blue in her tongue.

Also, shar peis have curled up tails, she has a pretty long straight tail that points completely down, not to the side or up like a mix would.

I disagree.... I don't see much shar pei in her.... her fur looks soft (tho obviously you can't tell soft from a pic, but that's my guess :-) It doesn't look "sandpaper-like" like shar peis.... and most puppies are wrinkled, then they grow into their wrinkles..... I have seen dacshunds really wrinkled that made me think they were not purebred, but then they grew into their wrinkles and looked purebred when adults. At her age, is hard to say how she will look like.

besides, would you love her any less if she was a mutt? I think she is adorable regardless if she is pure or not :-)

Its a shar-pei puppy. she's definetly a mix breed, probably mixed with a pit bull. Yes shar-pei pups are that wrinkly.

I think she is a mix between a pit bull and a shar-pei mix. She is adorable by the way!

She is a very pretty lady....yes she has some folds like a shar-pei.....she also looks like part bull dog (American Bull dog) ....the head is similar to a pit bull...but also due to her stature..your lady friend you got her from may be correct...part pit and shar-pei......She is a beautiful animal no matter what....

I've had 2 Shar Pei's and I can tell you that your dog looks NOTHING like my shar pei's did! To me she looks like a pit-cross, but crossed with what I don't know.
