Amoroso rolls are not available elsewear...also butchers in Philly make the steak with chipped beef made out of ribeye. My advise ask your butcher to throw a Ribeye on the slicer and fry it up and home served over french bread ( the next closest thing) ... make sure you don't forget the cheese wiz and fried onions! Enjoy

It's tough. In many cases you just have to do without, but if you can't you have two options:

Try to find a genuine cheesesteak place near you on this website (they're rare - but there are a few) http://www.bestcheesesteaks.com/

OR

Mail order a real cheesesteak (along with the Frank's soda to wash it down with and some tastykakes for dessert.) I know it sounds weird - but I hear it works.

I hope this helps! Good luck!

most people in the south DO NOT like how cheesesteaks are made/taste in Philly, therefore we do not make them that way..

I don't know what they're like up north being that I've never been... but the most talked about philly around here is made at a place called T-Bone's in Roebuck, AL. They specialize in it. Or my personal favorite is at Birmingham-Southern College... this guy makes them awesome!!!

They can't get the type of rolls we have in Philly, must be the water, LOL!
But I have had a pretty decent one in an Italian deli in St Pete, FL.

Because no one makes it better than Philly. We can't find a good one in Ohio either. I wonder will they deliver...?

I travel through MD and VA all the time. Neither state has good pizza, sandwiches, or good places to eat breakfast. The northeast just has good food, we're lucky.
