"I really don't see what a difference 3 month is going to have on me..."

The world is full of unrealistic, unfair deadlines, cut offs, etc. For example, I am unable to work because of a medical condition. I applied for Medicaid to help me pay the thousands of dollars of hospital bills. I was denied any assistance at all because my wife makes $14 too much a month! What has that got to do with you and MySpace?

If your parents set a date, you need to respect and accept that. Show them how mature you really are by deciding for yourself that waiting 3 months isn't going to make that much difference, either. Learning to wait, and to just live within the boundries that are thrust upon you, fair or not, is a far better gift than a MySpace page.

By the way: A lot of kids would go behind their parents' backs. Good for you for respecting your parents enough to obey them, even when you really don't want to. It sounds like you have great parents, and that you are a great kid (and I still call myself a kid at 32, so don't take offense)!

God bless.

OK, I think maybe you should ask them if they would like to make YourSpace with you. Maybe you can have a Space you all made together and then you can change it when you turn 14. You can put pics of them if they want, you can make it a private account and you can have them pick your friends. Tell them they can be as involved as possible. If they say yes they will see how harmless it can be and they might trust you to keep it up on your own. What ever you do. Don't do it behind their back. I admire you for not doing that already. That's very mature of you. You parents do have relevant worries about it, the Internet can be a dangerous place for a kid, but you sound like you make good decisions. Good luck!!

I hope you have fun on MySpace when you finally get it. It's fun!

What's the saying? If your friends jumped off a bridge would you do it too? MySpace rules are that you are supposed to be 14 to have an account. Even if your friends aren't following the rules it sounds as if your parents are aware of them and believe it's important for you to follow them. It's only a few months and then you can have a space with your parents approval and that's much better than having them find you with an account without it.

And then...you'll get bored.

Seriously, dude. It's not worth it. I had one and it got really boring. Really fast. The reason you want a myspace is because it's a fad, which is why I had one. There's like no point in having one when you meet all of your friends at school. Plus, by having a myspace, you are more suspectible to sex offenders. Trust me, in the long run, it's not worth it. I deleted mine after a couple months.

Maybe you can tell them to set up an account too so then they can make sure that it is safe for you then maybe they would let you have one earlier. If not don't sweat it Myspace will still be there in 3 months and it will be something to look forward to.

You are actually suppossed to be 16 or somewhere around there not 18...you are suppossed to be 18 if you are there to hook up like swingers and crap like that...but if you're just there to keep contact with friends you can be under age of 18. But so many kids lie about their age in there that it doesn't really matter, anywho if they're willing to let you than just wait, the website isn't going anywhere! Remember they are probably just trying to protect you, there's a lot of wackos out there!

"jamie" is WRONG you have to be at last FOURTEEN to have a myspace. i am 13 and ive had 1 4evr, but my parents know i wont go and get raped by some myspace stalker. i say that u should wait. it isnt that awesome. just use email for a while. and u can always plan ur myspace and get layout, picture, and graphics codes so ur myspace will be awesome within minutes of setting it up. :) -ry

I guess I won't get the best answer here but really your suppose to be 18 yrs old to have a myspace account. I have one and it bugs me when I see children on there younger then 18 yrs old and most parents don't care. Your lucky your parents will let you have one at the age of 14 but it's not all that cracked up to be.

I know what your going through! I am 13 in a coulpe of days. My dad got one first. MONTHS befors my mom said that I coulden't have one. So my dad made me one. The thing to do is to ONLY add you friends and to set it as private. Nobody a\can look at it then except for your friends! As for the 18 age thingie, all you have to do is put it as like 1982 or something like that! It's really simple. Good Luck on getting one!

OK you can wait 3 more months plus if you get myspace you'll be all hook on it. You'll be searching for people, sending friends request, changing layout, adding music- signs of a MYSPACEAHOLIC
