The verb is dormir. Adding "se" at the end it's for the 3rd person, both singular and plural. Or impersonal, too. Like in "ellos querian dormirse", "or esta infusion es lo mejor para dormirse".
Yo me duermo, tu te duermes, el se duerme, nosotros nos dormimos, vosotros os dormis, ellos se duermen. Present time.
Anyway, answer to your question could be any time of the verb, future, past, present, conditional, etc... as long as it's in 3rd person plural (los niños=they); duermen, dormian, durmieron, dormiran, dormirian, han dormido, habian dormido, hubieron dormido, habrian dormido, habran dormido. They're all correct.

If it is in past sentence is "Los niños se durmieron." if it is in present is "Los niños duermen." You can make an "ñ" pulsing ans living down atl and hittting 164, would be alt + 164 to get the ñ
