Tell me: global warming, ultra intelligent machines, big meteor, dead sun, anarchy, inability of fertality, tell me. How do you think we will all be destroyed? You know that mankind will eventually end, but how?

You have to accept this as an inevitability. We have what could be the dawn of WWIII going on in our own backyards, you have a freaky climate, brainwashing, rise of technology far superior than human beings.
I mean come on, machines can realize that mankind is imperfect. We have wars, we slowly destroy our earth, but hey, nobody's perfect. Machines don't think that. If they don't destroy, nothing will.

And yet, from our mistakes we learn. But, in today's day and age. yeah, it's not gonna happen. We haven't learned that Iran isn't giving up, we've learned that Iraq is not gonna be non violent till they kill each other completely, then we don't have to wory about Sunnis and Shi Ites.
If we cannot only not accept that we have mistakes, then we're worst than the omnipresent threats around us: global warming, to me, is just a bunch of debunkable crap. Now, utter annialation by warheads?! Yeah, it's possible. But, if it hasn't been proven yet, that won't kill us. The farty cows will. You see, the carbon dioxide that cows give off from their butts is more toxic than a car's fuel. The more they fart, the more they support this so called global warming. So...exterminate the farty cows, create cities that don't run on nuclear power, kiss and make up with the other nations, and we have a good world. We all know this ain't gonna happen. So, build your bomb shelters. Canda's next.

Man is very destructive, but the interesting thing is, it is not man who will finally destroy the world. No matter how much we have done, who we did it too, and what we did to kill more of man kind, the only one that will kill everything and anything will be our Lord and savor. We call it the end times. I have no clue how or when, but it is written in the book of Revelations. It was also for told in the Old Testament as well. So the answer is simple. The Son of God, Jesus Christ will come again, and all Christians who have accepted him as his savor will be taken up to heaven, and then the next seven years will be hell on earth. Those that survive have a chance to except the Lord Jesus as their savior before this world is vaporized. If so they to will find salvation.

Mankind ? What is that ? It is more than just being politically correct here to call it Humankind, don't you think, since we are all going down, Males and Females, when your scenario takes place.
It will most probably be the Weather which will end, or perhaps, alter forever our Human well-being on this Planet; that and probably the Man(?)-made Phallic bombs. When food runs out and Jojo cannot take shoveling snow anymore, all Hell will break loose. It has been foretold that with the cooling change of temperature in our great Atlantic Waters, New York, DC, London, Paris will be in a state of perpetual Winters. Warming is not expected to happen here. On average, Katrinas will hit 5 times a year, mud slides & other woes on the East Coast and a constant drought in the American Midwest will destroy the entire infrastructures of America. Nothing has been put into place, not even digging our cables under the ground (yes, it is done elsewhere: Singapore does not have a cable in sight, which does wonders for the Skylight - Esthetics could have saved us ). No one will be able to help anybody else. On the contrary, it will become "tribal" again. The Rich will try & remain fat, but famished People can be very angry and I am doubtful the Plumps will not be quartered by the famished Populations. It is probable whoever has food will be a target, but Others will have to reach you - which may be difficult due to wild seas and unpredictable skies. There is no guarantee the Weather will settle at all, as it was +20, ooo years ago - we know from the Earth iced sheets that Madam could be a Parisian Winter Lady, and within a few years change into a Moscovite ! I think cannibalism will be rampant - quite practical since it feeds on fresh and available commodity.
Well, who knows, perhaps the Native Indian tribes of America will have their chance in this Mayhem to re-colonise their country - just hang in there Honourable Braves - the Ghosts' Dance might materialise after all.

Here is what some venerable Chiefs had to say about the "end":

"Your time of decay may be distant, but it will surely come, for even the White...cannot be exempt from the common destiny." The Dwamish chief, Seattle to Isaac Stevens, Governor of Washington territory, in 1854.

"...his course is destruction; he spoils... he comes as long as he lives, and takes more and more, and dirties what he leaves... The white man fathers his doom...He says his story is that man was rejected and cast off. Why did we not reject him forever ? He says one of his virgins had a son nailed to death on two cross sticks to save him. Were all of them dead when that young man died, we would all be safe now, and our country our own."
The Flathead Chief, Charlot, in 1876 when the whites were attempting to oust them from their ancestral home in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana.

The most likely end of humanity will be caused by nuclear war. With thousands of warheads on Earth, it takes only 5 or 6 bombs to cause a complete nuclear winter that would wipe out most all life on Earth except maybe for a few microbes and insects.

I thinks its actually quite probable. Sorry to scare people, but really its true if you think about it. It sucks and you should blame the war-mongers.

Within a hundred years, we'll have the technology to solve most of these problems. We definitely won't be done in by global warming, fertility problems, or a big meteor (unless it hits within the next decade or so). The "dead sun" problem is billions of years away and will surely be solved by then.

My nomination: intelligent machines. I don't think any non-intelligent threat can wipe us out, especially after we develop self-sustaining space colonies. There's an outside chance that we wipe ourselves out, but any war is likely to have some survivors.

Oh, I don't know. If we aren't wiped out by an anthropogenically induced disaster of some sort (like global warming), I'm sure we'll manage to kill ourselves through nuclear warfare or something similar.

Of course, if we can't muster up the destructive power to do that chances are good we'll be wiped out by the next huge asteroid impact. Or, if that doesn't work out, we can always look forward to Earth's thermal energy running out, causing tectonic plate activity to grind to halt halt, and effectively taking our atmosphere out of the picture.

All of this is, of course, assuming we haven't spiraled into the sun by then, or the sun hasn't gone supernova. Or we haven't been swallowed by a passing black hole.

In other words, we're toast.

I'd like to agree with the guy above me about we'll handle things as they come... but, I think Global Warming is going to destroy mankind. I mean, I live in New England and this winter was terrible! We went from snowing 5 inches one day to 50 degrees the next. That can't be good. The animals were coming out thinking it was Spring and then they would have to hide the next day because it was 4 degrees. Its wierd, it just doesn't make sense.

First scenario:
Relativistic missiles striking earth from an extraterrestrial civilization.

Ever hear of Fermi's Paradox? If there alien civilizations out there, why don't we hear/see them? It's because the ones who advertise their presence get carpet-bombed by paranoid neighbors. It wouldn't take much matter, moving at relativistic speeds, to cook all life on land on a planet.

Second scenario:
Chuck Norris throws a temper tantrum.

Nuclear warfare will be the end of us before global warming or the sun exploding ever has the chance to take us out. That's my guess.

If disease & over population or a nuclear war dont do it, then the sun dying out. I do not think it will be from global warming

I am optimistic. I believe that humanity, when the need becomes evident, will find a way to deal with any problem presented. The only thing that can destroy us then is our own ignorance.
