The bible instructs us to pray for our leaders, not trash them every chance you get. The ultra liberal media is always manipulating the minds of the people to hate president Bush for instance. When we pray for our leaders, whether local, state or federal, there is more respect. When there is respect for an office, there is a higher standard for the people who get elected.

Have you ever heard of the Just 6 Dollars campaign. It is a grassroots organization that suggests that if each American would pay $6.00 per year to a fund dedicated to election finance, it would be possible for candidates to finance their campaigns without having to make shifty deals with the corporations and lobbyists.
I would be inclined to take that further. Each candidate gets the same amount of money from the fund, and is not allowed to accept any other private or corporate funding. That would level the playing field. If a candidate is proved to have engaged in dirty tricks, such as jamming an opponent's call centers, that candidate's funding is reduced by a predetermined amount and the funds are transferred to the opponent.
Hopefully, that would keep some of the sleaze out of politics. One can't hope to get rid of it all, of course, but we can reduce it.

Well, try voting out people who do not live up to their promises or who have been in office so long they are covered in moss. Get interested in the actual facts associated with each person running rather than listen to the rhetoric. Help people get out to vote.
The biggest reason our government is in the state it's in is because people don't' understand the branches, how they are suppose to work and what the responsibility of the voter is. I actually talked to someone who said if anything happened to the President the people would hold an election, the vice President would not take over. People don't know how it works. We need to educate them again,

i'm not sure that we ever had honor or nobility in our government.
i think that there were good ideas put down in our constitution, but until we can get rid of religion in politics, and people taking money to make sure that certain agendas are put forth i don't think we can get rid of corruption.
we need a "mr. smith" in government.
more common sense, less religion.

Insist on honor and nobility and de-elect all who don't qualify. Only when the citizenry put such requirements ABOVE having any other item (popularity, money, "their" man, etc.) will we get what that. In other words, only when the citizens truly want it.
I should add, however, that when a truly noble and honest and good ruler does appear, they try to kill him (Revelation 19: 11, 19-21.)

People have been trying to do that for centuries, but as history has shown, it is not so simple. You say take religion out of governemnt, but some of the worst dictators in history were very anti-religion: Hitler, Stalin and Lenin, Mussolini, ect. Perhaps there is no good governemnt to "return" to; when has it ever been honorable or noble?

By reintroducing Christian values to our schools.
If you teach a child that there is no Providence then there is no consequences to evil actions either. So long as you are not caught then it is not illegal to be corrupt. So why should anybody be honourable? I ask this question time and again yet so far no atheist deems it worthy of an answer.
