I had some bible thumper at work who always put religious material in my mailbox. I asked him to stop and he called me a pagan. So I waited outside the parking lot and told him if he did it again I would beat him to death with a tire iron. Did not hear a word from him after that.

Harassed by fundie Christians yes. I ended up quiting the job though because it was too much hassle.
I typically do not tell people what religion I am in the workplace, unless they ask. The reason certain people found out was because the supervisor kept asking me to go to church with her and then invited herself to a funeral. One of my friends thought he was doing a good thing, because I was worried about Christians from work crashing a Pagan funeral so he told her (the supervisor) that it was going to be a Pagan funeral. And well it did cut back on the stress of the funeral what with them not showing up, it later made it very difficult at work.

How do you decide the best answer? Most harassment? Most harmony? I don't get "persecuted" though I'm not really sure how that would work - maybe if my boss made me produce more results because of my religion. I'd venture to guess there is no real persecution going on in America or Europe.
Hey note-boy, do you know what passive aggression is? Nobody needs to know you forgive them, only you and if you want to "inform them" that they are forgiven (BY YOU), do it in person or forget about it.

As an atheist, I was harrassed by my co-workers every Christian holiday. Nobody understood my beliefs and called me a Scrooge and a Grinch, which isn't very nice but didn't bother me that much. Then they started saying things like they can't wait to see me burn in hell. These were mostly middle-aged and teenage women, all Christian of course.
I continued to go to the Christmas party each year mainly because it was a small business and it was something our boss Jim did to be nice to us all, so I felt obligated to go (not like at my new corporate job), but the abuse continued until I left that job. I also was harrassed for my liberal views during the war and the 2004 election season, but that is a different question.

If you have been harassed at work for being a Christian, or for not being one, shame on you. Aren't you able to put people in their place?
I certainly never had that problem. The only people who are harassed are the ones who put up with it. When you jump down someone's throat a few times, believe me, they won't tangle with you. And besides, it's fun!

I get harassed on this forum for asking questions simply because I'm not a Christian.

Actually, it is the other way around for me, I have Christians harassing me everyday trying to convert me, showing me "evidences" that they are right as it is documented in the bible.
During lunch time, I was almost being kick out of the meeting room where we eat in as the christians just walk in and say "We are going to have bible study session here now, all non-christians please go out". I was quite amused and replied "Last I check, this is a meeting room which is a designated lunch area during lunch time, it wasn't bible study room. If you want to do bible study, please go elsewhere where it is stated as bible study room (There are non). If you want to stay here to discuss, fine with me, but you have no authority to kick us out."
Outcome? Well, they are still discussing the bible and I am still my old self. :P.

I get customers who come in and ask if I am saved. I say no.
Then they tell me all about Jesus. As though the decades spent as a Christian wouldn't have tiped me off to this idea.
And I tell them thank you.
And then they hand me materials - and tell me how God loves me.
And I say - I know.
Then they say - you can't know God without Jesus.
I say - yes you can, Jesus wasn't the son of God. God didn't die for me to forgive me for something that I didn't need forgivness from.
It just goes downhill from there.
I just want to add - my husband is Christian. He doesn't behave this way. He respects me and loves me to allow me to make my own desicions. We talk about religion all the time - but we actually have conversations. He doesn't preach at me.

A man at work cussed me out in front of everyone one day, so I started praying for the man and leaving him notes (we drive trucks. He drives in the day, I drive at night.) the notes were prayers that he would have a great day and that the joy of salvation would sustain him. He wrote me a note cussing me out again and told me never to pray for him. I wrote one more not saying that I am sorry, but I have to bless him, also that I would stop. He turned the note in and I got in trouble for it.
