I eat in KoreaTown like twice a week..Love Korean food! A good starting place is called Kum Gang San, you will probably find the most non Korean people eating here. 2 doors down is a place called Gahm Mi Oak, IMO they have THE best kimchi there. There is a Korean tofu place on 35 st called Cho Dang Gol which is great, but the one place on that block that always has the longest lines and are usually 99% Korean customers (which usually means it's good, and it IS) is called Kun Jip. Enjoy!

My husband was stationed in Korea in 1971 and LOVES Korean food. I would guess that other former soldiers that were stationed there would also want to eat at Korean restaurants.

I was not stationed there, but I love my husband's cooking. So I would eat at Korean restaurants. Although I can't handle most kim chee.

its obvious that there would be more koreans at a korean restaurant.
but americans sometimes come.
i see non-koreans atleast once every time i dine out at a korean restaurant.
KOREAN FOOD IS GOOD.
although you may be uncomfortable with the atmosphere.
it has a more eatingatyourneighbors feeling that fancy.
i recommend...bo ssam or dweh ji bulgogi (spicy) or boodehjjigae (has spam)

I've lived here all my life and didn't know we had a Koreatown, and one of my best friends is Korean. Hum, I'll have to talk to her.
