I have been "talking" to this guy for a while that has an ex wife and children. We are hoping to get more serious. But I know I'm wasting my time if I am not seeking long term from this. For those with experience what are some things that I should address/consider before jumping into this. I really don't have a problem with him being a packaged deal, I just want to make sure I have really considered and thought out several perspectives.

You need to make sure that you are willing to be a mother to the children. They will need you and you will be marrying into that position. You also need to make sure that you are willing to marry a man who might not have as much spark in his second+ narriage. Sometimes afetr getting married the first time, people lose hope in the next and aren't as sexual and sexy.

obviously you do have a problem with a package deal if your asking yourself this question.remember there isn't just the 2 of you to think about either there are children involved that are either going to get attached to you or have issues with you.you also have to make sure the ex is over her feelings and isn't some phsycho.i think you might be a little in over your head, and if your not remember that no matter what this isn't going to be an easy situation to deal with.

I have always avoided package-deal guys. I finally married one and for something like four years, there was constant harrassement by his ex... phone calls at all times, impossible demands. I never said anything, never felt it was my place to.
Now, he doesn't talk to her anymore, he has had it enough and I'm happy about it, and I think he knows it.
But I think I'd never go for something like that again.

Being a single mom I have to say to keep the kids in mind. My son got really attached to the last guy I dated and it just broke his heart when we broke up. It is a hard situation to be in, keep that in mind if you don't want anything to serious.
