have to refer everything to religion as if it really meant something to everyone? they are almost like religious spammers.. trying to sell something.

it depends, even those who choose not to incorporate spirituality in their lives, live by their own personal philosophy, so you could almost say they have their own religion.
some people find peace and happiness in spirituality, and want to share it with others.
some people have doubts, so they project those doubts onto others, and try to convert everyone else.
still others prey upon the simple minded and wish to manipulate them.
others may think it is a duty of their faith to try to share their beliefs with others.
it just depends on who you are talking about.

Let it mean something to them. If you disagree, you don't have to feel the same about things as Christians do.
