does anyone know the first thing to do when it comes to finding out who your father is my husband is 32 yrs old and has never meet his real father . and it is finally starting to bother him that he has never meet him his mother gave me a name but how do i go about finding this man? i would really appreciate any help from anyone that went through this before?

The only thing I can tell you is to Google 'people search' or 'find missing persons' and use any of these companies and agencies that specialize in finding people.

I'd start with his birth certificate. There should be a fathers name on it, and possibly, depending on where he was born, a social security number. Then, if you have that, go to the Social Security Vital Records, Birth and Death Certificates and check there. I'd start with the Death Records first, and if you don't find him there, then go on with searching for him.

You may need to get a private investigation/people finder type service, but be careful, because a lot of them, especially online, will charge you for information that is free public record and that you could find yourself for free.

Also, discuss with his mom how important this is to him. She probably has more information that she hasn't shared.
