it is very likely you would find this to be like a miracle fix .
steroids used to treat inflammation are fantastic sure there is a need for caution in some cases but for you not so much so just get the shot and be happy the doctor is going that route as it is so great.

Treat the problem causing the pain, not just the pain. Cortizone shots are steroids, used for anti-inflammatory purposes in your case. Steroids can have nasty side effects. Look at the rest of your life. Are you overweight? Do you exercise? Do you sit at a computer, in front of the TV? Have you ever had an MRI done? If so have you ever been told that you have stenosis or herniated/ bulging/ slipped "disc". I would recommend Physical therapy way before the Cortizone. Cortizone will probably work for a short time, but you will have to keep getting them and they will not work all of the time. You will have to keep going back indefinitely. Go with physical therapy. For the discomfort take Ibuprofen and use ice packs at night and warm packs of the morning. Hope this is helpful.

Have you found a chiropractor that you like? I see one regularly to help me with chronic back pain. My husband sees the same one when he pinches a nerve in the gym. I would recommend that the shot be a lost resort

Ha, I've had the same freakin' problem for the past 3 weeks.

I just ice it down for an hour or two any night when I'm tired of dealing with the pain and discomfort.

If it fails can result in paralysis! Acupuncture is the only treatment for it. Eventhen try south pole of a strong magnet on pain site or better visit us if possible.
