to chetco i am pretty sure he is a mixed breed, his father was mixed breed like lab mix but there were so many dogs at that farm that any one of them could have been the dad so yeah

the best part of sammy is that he can always make me smile. he can relate to me i feel that i have a special bond. we were both born on april 17, i will be 14 this year and he will be 14 in doggy years. he is so special to me and i wouldnt give him up even if someone offered me the entire world

Sammy looks like a Mc Nab collie. Are you sure he isn't purebred?
Lovely dog, and I bet he's real smart.
He was so blessed that God sent you to find him.

cute- and very nice of you to take him. As for passing up a purebred- I do it with almost every dog I buy. Generally, mutts are healthier and live longer than purebreds due to the small genetic pool found with most breeding practices.
Our $100 mutt from the humane society (pitbull/husky/german shepard) is the most loyal dog we have. Our purebred huskies? They couldn't care less about us.

ur dog is very cute, and I am glad that u decided to go with the runt, and not let him lead a horrible, homeless life without an owner. Without you, not many ppl would want a runt, and they would abandon him. GOOD 4 U!!!

i read that book and i LOVED it!!! i think that is very sweet what you did for that poor animal, and i looked at springer spaniel puppies, but they were 800 dollars! i still would have rescued one of the puppies from sammies litter. anyone who can afford purebred dogs will house them well and will be spoiled, but muts need LOVE. that is awsome what you did.
