I love watching the IROC series too. I think the cars look good. The only problem is that they didn't have enough IROC races in a year. The IROC series is the way to call a champion. In NASCAR, cars may handle bad and stuff like that. The IROC cars are all the same, so whoever wins is the best driver. In NASCAR, that is not the case. It is whoever has the best car. I like NASCAR don't get me wrong, but i think in the IROC series, it is more the driver that gets the job done than the car.

I was at the brickyard IROC race a few years back and it was fantastic. They had second round qualifying, happy hour and the IROC race all on a saturday the day before the brickyard 400. Price for a ticket was $20.00. Best $20.00 I ever spent. There were lots and lots of race fans there that day. Luyendyke hit the wall coming out of turn 4 right in front of us and the car totally disintegrated. I thought he was probably done for. But he wasn't hurt that bad. If you followed the series you probably remember the crash. I always watched the IROC races and bet on drivers with friends. Going to miss it.

it's sad but true that it's all a rat race and the sponsor's are the cheese. I think they were losing money on it because not many people watched it. If no one watches it, then it just dies a slow death. And it does seem like no one cares, but that's partly because people are like "oh, man that sucks. I thought they stopped that 10 years ago though." I forgot about it too because there was nothing saying when and where an IROC race was, no ads, no nothing, so I just forgot when the races were. I did use to enjoy watching some of the world's best duke it out though.

I don't think it is no one cares. It is not running due to lack of sponsor money. Jay cannot fund it all by himself. I always liked IROC, but it had strayed well away from its roots. Back in the beginning you had drivers from Indy, NASCAR, F1, and sports cars all running, 2 ovals and 2 road courses. Then Ecellstone(sp) would not let the F1 guys run, it was below them, and then the 2 road courses were dropped. In the last few years they began to run the road courses again, and they finally started inviting guys like The Dude, and Kinser.
I would love to see it come back, but sadly I don't think a sponsor can get the bang for his buck in only 4 races.

I usually tried to watch at least one IROC race a year. It truly showed who the best drivers were, since the cars were the same. It would be great to see at least a couple "exhibition" races each year after the regular NASCAR season ended.

It just fell in the category of who gave a crap. Yeah you had different drivers from different racing leagues compete, but NASCAR drivers almost always won lately, and 12 cars racing around isnt as exciting as 33 or 43 or a higher amount of cars racing around.
I loved to watch it too, but I feel its time has passed.

Because Nascar hates to see Mark Martin win!! That is why there wont be anymore IROC races.
Now that Dale Sr is not around to race noone cares to see MM kick everybody's butts!!!
