Christians keep bringing it up and reminding people of the chance of Hell, yet Christians are condemning eachother to Hell. What's the deal, does the overall picture of Christianity condemn all to hell???

The message is that one who does not conform is punished with eternal damnation.

Individuals usually see themselves subjectively and as a result consider themselves the correct party. As Christianity supposidly is a religion that only has one correct or true way of worshiping, behaving, ascending to heaven etc. The problem lies in that there are many opposing views of this one true way (well over a 1000.) Because of this, individuals look at the community of Christians and see misunderstanding, ignorance and incorrect practice continually. The supposid punishment for being as such is of course eternal damnation and so it's just as easy for a christian to tell another christian that they're going to hell as it is for them to tell a non-believer.

The chorus of opinions suggest that not many are going to escape the fires of hell.

There are a lot of misconceptions about what the bible teaches on the after life...heaven and hell. When the Gutenburg press was invented and the bible was being translated into the "common" languages, the priests were outraged because they thought that if ordinary people could read the scriptures for themselves that "everyone will interperet the bible for themselves". They were not entirely wrong, were they?
As far as condemation is concerned, in the legal sense of the term a person is condemned only after being found guilty. Or to use another legal/biblical term after they have been "judged".
In my view, judgement is in the hands of the creator, not us who are part of the creation. Therefore for anyone to judge another is to put him/herself in the place of God. Anyone who judges, judges themselves. When a finger is pointed at someone elses behavior, there are three fingers pointing back at the accusor! Jesus taught this principle when He said not to judge others because you will be condemning yourself in the process. He used the analogy of trying to get a speck of dust out of your neighbors eye, when all the while you have a 2x4 in your own eye. He said first get the plank out of your own eye so that then you will be able to see more clearly and then be a "help" to your neighbor in removong the speck of dust from His eye.
It is pretty obvious that the preaching of hell fire and condemnation has been a famous way of trying to scare people into the Kingdom, so to speak.
God is love, according to l John, and so we see God as wooing us to Him. We should serve and love God not out of fear of condemnation, or out of hope for reward, but just for who He is and what He has done.
I think in the end God is a much bigger winner than the world understands Him to be!

I hope this will be helpful to you.

If your interested in a biblical view of hell...it simply means "the grave"
Revelation does speakabout "a lake of fire" but death and hell are cast into the fire and are no more. So the doctrine of eternal hell is not good theology. God, the scripture says, is a consuming fire. So the fire of God is etenal and unquenchable but the burning doesn't go on for eternity. Just like the gold refined in the fire, once all the impuruties are gone the work of the fire is finished and all that is left is poure gold.
God will not punish someone unfairly or unjustly. The punishment will fit the crime.

As a True Christian I know God would never punish His Children in such a vile manner as an eternal Hell fire.
Romans 6:23 said "The wages sin pays is death"
Romans 6:7 "He who has died has been acquitted from his sin"
Or what would you think of a Parent who held his child's hand over a fire to punish the child?
GOD IS LOVE(1John 4:8) Would God do that???
Certainly not!
Also for the Ancient

t Jews, Jeremiah 7:31"They {apostate Judeans} have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the Valley of the son of Hinnom, in order to burn their sons and daughters in the fire, a thing that I God Almighty had not commanded and that had not come up into my heart.
So if it did not come up into Gods Heart then, He would have NO use for it on a larger scale!!!

So where did Hell fire come from ?
The religions of Babylonia and Assyria, and later to the Etruscan civilization.

I don't think it is anyone's right to condemn another to hell, nor even to indicate that they might be going to hell in any means other than sincere warning. Of course, not all Christians believe in hell, and only the most vocal will act as you say.

Still, I gently remind such Christians of Romans 14:19:
"Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification."

Unfortunately, the concept of hell turns many away from Christianity. Truthfully, only God knows, and God knows best, and I will not make any claim concerning something which I know not.

You have been hanging out with the flaky side of the Christian family. There is a "peace and love" crew and a "leave others alone" crew and the "I'm right" bunch.
Try to stay away from any guru that tells you they have the answer.

You only have 1 life, study widely and use your own brain. If the "damned to Hell" folks sound illogical, you are probably right. Leave them to their sad ideas. Move on.

I'm so hungry. I skipped lunch and now it's 7:00 and my parents aren't home yet.

Yep! Billions and billions and billions of people are in Hell. Which brings up the question, if only Heaven is unlimited, wouldn't Hell be very crowded?

When speaking of a select group of Christians, yes.

As for the Bible however, doesn't anyone (read: everyone) that break ANY of God's laws like not killing or lusting have no chance of making it to Heaven? Yes, it does seem like everyone is damned to Hell.

According to Christians the vast majority of the world is going to hell. Even as I speak, all the smart people (all of Asia) is going to hell. Oop, there go another million of them...

According to some Christians not all. I think fear rules those who do say it. I mean if I were trying to convince you of something I would use what convinced me.
