Start the truck and listen to try and track down the noise. Pay particular attention to the area of the left lower kickpanel. Getting louder?

If yes, it's the left junction box. There is a technical service bulletin from Toyota regarding it. Due to the way the junction box was manufactured, it can fail over time causing a buzzing noise first. There can also be symptoms related to the power mirrors not working properly. If you are comfortable working on your vehicle, you can get the TSB from sites like www.alldata.com. If not, go to your dealer and have them look it up.

The challenge that if the junction box is a problem and since there is a 99% chance you are out of warranty, it could get expensive. The TSB instructs to first try and just basically smack the box so that it re-aligns inside. If that doesn't work it has to be replaced because it will eventually go. Not sure of exact cost, but it's not cheap.

Hope that helps.

That should be the fuel pump. It's a good thing. If has gotten noticeably LOUDER since the beginning of ownership then it is getting ready to fail. That's a bad thing.
