This is completely up to you. You need to decide for sure what you really want, but don't rush in with the fear of losing him by wasting time. If it was meant to be it will be - trust me.

My opinion is:
When we break up with someone, 99% of the time it is for very valid reasons that we often forget (or forgive) as time passes. I'm sure that you have heard "Absence makes the heart grow fonder". We then have selective memories of the relationship - normally the good stuff and not the bad. This does not mean that a 2nd chance should be ruled out, it just means don't beat a dead horse. If it doesn't work out this time around (or if this will really be the 3rd, 4th, 5th...time around) maybe you should reconsider where your energy is going.
If you feel like you have really learned from the past and that it will positively affect the future (ie: you learned that the manner in which you dealt with each other was one of the downfalls of the relationship and want work on better communication) then you both owe it to yourselves to give it another chance.

Before the two of you move forward he has to break up COMPLETELY with his present girlfriend. It is not fair to either of you if one of you is not completely available and committed to the relationship, and it is definitely not fair to the present girlfriend to be kept around "just in case".

If he is not willing to work towards a relationship with his full focus and energy on you, and vice versa, it should not happen.

Best luck to both of you, whatever your choice. Be honest with each other and yourselves.

It is better to regret doing something, than to regret not doing it...

Stay away from him. If he is still with his new girlfriend, you can bet he doesn't hate her. Also, who cares what his parents think. Try being single this summer and stay away from your ex. Sometimes familiarity is mistaken for love. You are used to him being around and you just miss his presence. Enjoy the summer, I can guarantee you that this will be the best summer you have ever had. Also, don't hang around his family or friends if possible. Don't allow your ex to feel that he can have you as an option, if HE chooses.

i think you and him need to be true to yourselfs, if he so much wanted to be with you he would have made every effort to be with you, just the mere fact that he is not happy with the one he is involved now, says alot. And if u feel that the two of you can get back together, have a talk and define exactly how both of you feel, if there is still feelings from both sides and take it from there.

Forget him! He loves his new girl but his family hates her(according to you). Maybe he just wanted someone to talk about that, that's why he's always talking to you. Wait till they're over before thinking of anything else. Just enjoy your summer.

Then just tell him you want to stay single for the summer or say you need a bit of time before you have another relationship. Take care Heather

truthfully just stay single. You can still be there for him even if he isn't your bf. My friend Angelica and i are like family were so close, we stick by each other all the time.

But if you truly miss him so much you should get back together with him.

seeing as how you guys are on pretty good terms, i say you should just comfort him as a friend and see where it goes...
however if you were really hurt over the breakup, then don't get back with him
