They wouldn't because they know God hates them and they are going to hell. Only winners go to heaven.

Because, they only feel the need to think him for big things that are good not the small or bad. People dont undersatnd that, you might lose that game but, the other team would have lost if you didnt. plus, you need to thank god fo the small things like, making a shot, goal, touchdown exc. you need to thank him for everything good and thank him for all the bad thing s that, he didnt let kill you.

I am a sports fan myself and I noticed that too. Honestly, I don't think God sides with any team. He just wants us to play fair and give our best.

Because, human nature and this society tell us to be upset that we are not winning 'everytime' and we must look out for number one (ourself).

well, obviously, god wasn't on their side, so they blame something that isn't there for loosing when it's their own dumb fault =)
