Hi. I take 10 mgs a night and have for the last year. If you take it, you need to go straight to bed.
I have had great results with this medicine, but the few times I took it and futzed around on the computer or texting, then I do dumb stuff, but nothing awful.
Just make sure you are in the sack within 10 minutes.
My routine is take it, go upstairs, brush my teeth and hair, wash my face and get in bed. No problems at all.
Good luck!

I take ambien but i take a 10mg and half of one later. ambien is totally safe. It is a great alternative to help you sleep. I have never heard horror stories like that. You do need to be in bed about 30 min after you take it b/c it works fast. If you have taken it before you will be fine this time. If anything your body would be more resilient to the side effects b/c you have taken it.

Last October, I couldn't sleep at all. I'd be up days on end with anxiety and depression. And so when I got Ambien, it was great. I could finally sleep at night and I'd sleep from about 10pm until 5am. My only problems were that I didn't take it directly before going to bed and that I took it continuously for two weeks. When you don't take it directly before bed, then you can get double vision and black out. I woke up once with all my roommates laughing at me, with me not knowing that I'd put on a dancing show the night before. I'm painfully shy, and that was slightly traumatic. Taking Ambien for two weeks isn't a good idea either, as its effects wear off with time.
My bottom line is that people have different brain chemistry and so it will effect everybody differently. Just take it as directed - directly before bed, and everything will be fine.
I just got put back on Ambien yesterday and I haven't had any problems, so don't worry.

It did kind of mess up my memory from night before. It also made me horny as a hoot owl a couple of times. When you take them go to bed in no more then 30 minutes. You should be okay.

If a Medical Dr. prescribed them than they are safe. I have never heard of those side effects. Check with your Doc., see if you can have a 1/2 dose first. Keep in close communication with your Dr.

DONT TAKE IT! my dad took that for a while and got addicted. he couldnt sleep for weeks and was extremely unpleasant all the time while he was on it. he also always woke up in SWEATS. he was stuck on it for like a year and a half and it's like heck trying to get off of it. trust me, you dont want to take it. just work on your diet and get some exercise.
