The last name (Messiaen) I don't know. It's not of French origin.
Olivier is pronounced somewhat like this: oh-leave-yay

Messiaen is an ancient form to Messien. It is a french writting of dutch Messien, whose meaning is "that who goes/sell at the market" (Mess in ancient dutch). Dutch language is one of those spoken nativelly in France, besides french (breton, occitan or proveçal, catalan, basque or euskera, alsatian german dialect, gallo or gallo-roman are the others). The spell in french way is "me-ssea- an" (nasal pronnounciation, as "entre" or "decadence". A pronnounciation closer to its german roots would be almost equivalent, but the "en" is like german or english "en" (Entschuldigung in german or "answer" in USA english)
French is one of my mother tongues, I teach linguistics at the University of Sao Paulo in Brazil and I am translator of neolatin languages, including french.

Lorraine is a very exceedingly French call! different than for Alice(reported ah-LEE-s in French), Belle and Esmee (2 Es), the names you have listed are not French. you will not often IF EVER detect a french call finishing in -y or -a. merely theory i'd inform you, because of fact this is for French type. Make the -A into -E, and the Y into -IE

its hard to describe really.. its like.. Oliv-i-ay and then messiaen is evn harder.. its like.. mess en.. really hard to describe!
