Here the deal from someone who went through it, we live in NJ and were marred in NYC, we had to go to the county clerks office at the courthouse downtown. A tip, GO EARLY, the line is very long and you have to sit down with the people give your info, then you have to read all your info to make sure its correct, it takes a while. You wont be able to run over on your lunch hour, I would suggest taking at least the morning off, if not the whole day.

You have to get your marriage license in the state that you are married which in this case would be NY.

You have to get the license from the state in which you are getting married. I know this for a fact because I live in Ohio and got married in Las Vegas. Good luck!
