The colorful bands on my brackets are coming off! Is it normal??

Should I try to put them back on? Or are they no big deal? I have red by the way ^^

They can come off, but usually don't.

Best to wait to see the orthdontist to put them back on- give them a call tomorrow.

The elastics hold the wire in the brackets and sometimes they do come off as they loose their elasticity. If it is just a couple and the wire is not out of the bracket or the wire is not poking you then you have nothing to worry about. I would not try and put the elastic back on yourself as to much pressure on the bracket will pop it off. If you are concerned call your orthodontist.

I have black :) They don't come off of mine unless I try to pull them off, which takes quite a bit of effort. I think the bands are there so that the brackets don't rub against our mouths and scratch us. Put some of the dental wax on the ones that are coming off, and try not to do anything by yourself. Then call your dentist and ask if it's normal, and if not, he can do something. Hope I helped!

those bands are whats holding the wire into your brackets.
if you want a more hands-on approach, you could clean a pair of tweezers (when i say clean, i mean sterilize - you can never be too careful.) and pull them back on yourself.

or yu could go to the orthodontist and theyll do it for you.
try to get them back on as soon as possible, those little bands are hella important!

The bands are usually for decoration so don't be alarmed and don't listen to the first answer.

don't listen to the first answer. those colorful bands are what makes your braces align your teeth!!! call your orthodontist and he/she will put them back in. expect to have your braces on longer than you were origionally supposed to.
