NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! Any "Jew" that says they do, or especially if they say he was the messiah, is not a Jew.

From what I've read, generally no.
However, I did read that some Jews, particularly those who support the modern Noahide movements, believe that Christianity and Islam, which are both very quickly growing, will lead their billions of followers back to the Jewish faith, or at least to an ideologically close and acceptable path. With this belief, since Christianity and Islam both first stemmed from Judaism concerning Jesus, he could be seen as, if not a prophet, then at least a member rooted deeply in God's plan.
Messianic Judaism is considered a denomination of Christianity by most, I believe. Likewise, there are other smaller and often "extinct" groups which fall somewhere between Judaism and Christianity, such as the Ebionites, however generally the belief of Jesus as the Messiah is what distinguishes Judaism from these other, smaller groups.

Actually there are some Jews that do think that Jesus was just a prophet, but there are others that do believe that Jesus was the Son of God. The Jews that think that Jesus was a prophet are still waiting for the Messiah to come.

It is blasphemy to worship any human made into a God!!! That is the number one thing Jews are to avoid. The Egyptians and other surrounding cultures did the same thing in Biblical days. We learned from our Bible ("Old" Testament) that He forbids that practice along with any human sacrifice whatsoever. That is exactly why the Christian Bible is called the "New" Testament. They have a "New" kind and loving God that sends "unbelievers" to eternal punishment regardless of the sin.
If Jesus actually lived, he would have been no more or less than any other rabbi of the day. There were many rabbis teaching several *versions* of Judaism!

No Jew thinks of J*sus as a prophet.
Messianic "Jews," though they claim to be Jews, are actually Chrstians trying to fool Jews into converting. No Jewish authority recognizes them as Jewish.

I am a Jew, I believe Yeshua the Hebrew name for Jesus is a prophet and is also everything He was predicted to be and said he was.
many who are culturally Jewish are not spiritually Jewish, they reject Moses Isaiah and the one they taught about Yeshua Jesus the prophet Messiah for all nations (Isaiah 42 first verses-"He will be a light to the nations."
Moses said without the shedding of blood there is no atonement for sins=Leviticus 17:11
Isaiah said "He will lay down his life to make atonement for our sins. He will be despised and rejected." Isaiah 52:13-53:12
Yeshua/Jesus said to Peter when Peter said "Thou art the Messiah the son of God. "yes"
in Judaism today there is only one holding to the Jewish Scriptures spiritually they are as I am Messianic Jews that believe Moses, Isaiah and Yeshua Jesus.
to the cultural Jewish person-with no atonement for sins-they reject the Messianic Jewish people-they make their own rules and claim if you believe in the Messiah then you are not a Jew. It is funny they accept athiest soviet Jews, Buddist Jews any kind accept those that believe Moses Isaiah and Yeshua as Jews.

The Rabbinical writers of the period after Jesus' crucifixion considered Jesus "a deceiver of Israel" who learned magic tricks while living in Egypt and used these tricks to carry away the Jews in heresy and error. They also state that he was the bastard son of a Roman soldier named Panteras, which is why two of the gospels say nothing of Jesus' miraculous virgin birth, but the gospels do have scribes and pharisees saying to Jesus, "WE were not born of fornication! WE know who our father is! Even Abraham!" In this one sentence they insinuate Jesus was born of fornication, doesn't know who his daddy is, and isn't even a descendant of Abraham.
Most academic commentators admit the likelihood that Matthew and Luke invented the virgin birth to answer charges that Jesus was illegitimate. Both Mark and John say nothing about a miraculous virgin birth. Added weight is given to this argument in that both Matthew and Luke come up with the virgin birth because of the mistranslation of "alma" which in Hebrew simply means"young woman", not "virgin", but the translators who translated the Hebrew to Greek in Alexandria mistranslated as "virgin." Obviously if God had been dictating he would know the correct Hebrew was "young woman" whereas Matthew and Luke, both of whom clearly used a Greek Bible with the incorrect "virgin", did not.

They're called Messianic Jews. They believe Jesus was the Messiah, but not the Son of God (or an aspect of God himself), as well as a prophet.
Of course, most Jews are not of this persuasion.

I suspect they think he was just a Rabbi or something.
However there is a small group of them who accept Jesus Christ, which ironically makes them Christians who act like Jews.... confusing isnt it......
