He always acts like he cares about what is going on in my life. He'll invite me over and make dinner and we will hang out all night but then I dont hear from him again for a couple of weeks or sometimes longer. I know he doesnt have a girlfriend or anything like that. So please I need advice.

it is easy for him to see you as a booty call. men and women view sex so differently. men don't attach any emotions or feelings to act of sex. he acts like he cares because that is his way of getting you into bed like the player he is. a real mature man would say i just want to have sex and i don't want a relationship.
so now it is up to you on what you want to do:
stay, knowing nothing will change between you two.
or
leave and find a real man.

if you are just a piece to him,then hes not for you.he needs to take you for who you are and not just what he can get off of you.
