i hate that nascar uses the same bodies now. i thought it was bad then now its worst with this rule. NASCAR would be much better if they were actually stock cars like the one we but so manufacturers could try making safer, more fuel effient, and have more fans. If i owned nascar, i would make the race car be either stock cars or suped up cars. Also they would not just go in circles for a long time. The track would be more difficult to drive in because of turns which would mean speed would not be everything. They would be longer and might be in remote places where this could be possible. NASCAR IS NOT A SPORT. I know it requires skill but isnt much of a sport. My rules would bring more fans to nascar. what do u think of em.

Personally I dont liek the COT as much as anyone does as alot of people dont like it but I am all for making the cars more fuel efficient and the drivers safer. I think if they can get a car that doesn't look like something that you would see in F1 or something and have stock cars or what they currently use before the COT like the other half of the season then they would be doing great. I think that if they can get a car wiht everything in it then they would be getting more fans. The NASCAR population is growing every year but the ratings seem to be decreasing but some people get busy and have other things to do so you kind of expect everyone to not be able to watch a race sometimes.

NASCAR sucks all right. Its sucking the life right out of every other form of racing.

I didn't think it possible for anyone to screw with NASCAR more than NASCAR, but you have proven me wrong with your ideas. I know that there have been complaints about all the "cookie cutter" tracks, but if you want to hear real complaining, nothing would cause more than an all road course series. We like to see the whole track! No super road courses in remote locations, thank you very much! Nobody that likes real racing wants to see the cars for 10 seconds out of a 3 minute lap. They can’t brew enough beer to quell the boredom.

NASCAR has never been all about the speed. If you are too fast down the straight, the car won't turn. If the car won't turn you get beat. Up until the aerodynamics engineers and wind tunnels messed with it, NASCAR was about handling and driver's ability. It reached a point where the slick cars were slower due to aero-push. Drivers would have to lift because the car would just take off toward the wall. A driver needs predictability and aero-push was entirely unpredictable as to occurrence and amount. Generally speaking, at the end of a NASCAR race the faster cars are faster due to handling, not HP!

Memorial Day weekend. A race fan's heaven!

Up early to watch Monaco, followed by the Indy 500 in the afternoon, closed out with the Coca-Cola 600 in the evening under the lights. They always save the best for last! What a day!

BTW, even on an oval if you want to go fast, you will find yourself turning right several times a lap. Ever hear of counter-steer? By my calculations, NASCAR’s drivers turn right more often in a 500-mile race than F1 does all season. Oh yeah, on a lot of tracks the NASCAR driver is steering with the wheel, the throttle and the brakes, simultaneously. Trail-brake on entry, steer, counter-steer repeatedly, power off too much, get wheel spin, get passed, too little throttle and get passed. The faster you can come off the corner the faster you will be at the end of the straight. The faster you are at the end of the straight, depending on the setup, will loosen the car or induce more push on entry and create more need for trail-braking, steering and counter and/or throttle steering. All within view of the entire grandstands.

At Bristol its impossible to carry on a conversation without yelling! At Talladega, you can carry on a normal conversation for 35 seconds out of every 50.

If you are sitting in Turn 1, as the cars exit Turn 4, the roar is distant. As the cars approach, the first sensation is the grandstand vibrating. The roar smoothly reaches a crescendo. As the cars get to within 50 feet, you feel the pressure wave. As the cars pass by, the air seems to be sucked right out of your lungs as your mouth is open to relieve the pressure on your eardrums. The stands feel as if you are in an earthquake and then the vibrations stop, the Doppler effect is beautiful as the cars round Turn 1. By Turn 2, the roar is once again a distant rumble that fades down the backstretch and the cycle repeats, all within view.

They use the same body's because in today's market it is impossible for each of the car manufacturer's to make a specific model for Nascar like they did in the old days. PERIOD. It's too expensive especially when the car makers are all losing money.
Therefore, maybe one car brand would make one model for Nascar's good 'ol set of rules, then you would be on here bitchin' about Nascar because there all Chevy's!

Why does everyone blame NASCAR for everything?
Nascar bends over to the car companies to keep them in the sport so there can still be a Nascar. IT'S NOT NASCAR'S FAULT NOBODY'S BUYING THUNDERBIRDS!..GEEZ!

PLUS, Nascar is something that people who think like you can't seem to get a simple grip on. NASCAR IS A SPECTATOR SPORT. Just like any other sport.

Here's some more news for the uneducated. THEY ALREADY HAVE THE TYPE OF RACING YOUR GENIUS MIND CAME UP WITH. It's called the SPORTS CAR CLUB of AMERICA. Go watch it, I do, and quit posting stupid questions.....'ya moron

Just a couple of corrections on the statement about NHRA blowing Nascar out of the water. Top Fuel cars go over 300 MPH in less than 5 seconds and the Horsepower on these Top Fuel engines whether it is Dragsters or Funny cars is 7000 horsepower, Pro Stocks make more than 1500 hp.

yeah, there's a big difference in what you view as NASCAR and what NASCAR actually is. Every sport has its problems. NASCAR admittidly has more than most but it is what it is. It isn't a circuit for sports cars. If you want it so bad, go find a lamborghini, an EVO, a 350Z, and an RX-7 and get guys to race them. Sounds kinda like a movie I've seen. Also, I heard that they made a Forza racing show, you could check that out. I don't know....just don't watch it if you hate it so much.

It's boring, they just drive in circles and the same car leads 50% of the laps. My question is: Why isn't there a category for the NHRA on Yahoo Answers? Drag racing blows NASCAR out of the water. 300 mph in about 9 sec. Now that's a man's sport. I know it's not as easy to follow as NASCAR when you're drunk, but it's a hell of alot funner to watch. And when you feel that vibration from the 1,500 hp top fuel engines, you know it takes balls to control those beasts. Anybody could drive in NASCAR. Just turn left.

What do you think constitutes something being a sport?

"sport –noun 1. an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc."

Sounds like you like formula one racing. If that is so then watch formula one. Leave the NASCAR to the NASCAR fans.

Question: Why do so many road track racers come top NASCAR? (Boris Said, Juan Pablo Montoya)

well obviously you have never seen a race.first of all the body styles are the same to give the smaller teams a chance to make it in the race. Also the are making the changes to make it safer for the drivers. If every driver wrecked and was killed then we would not have NASCAR.
you should go to a race, you would be hooked for life. It is the best sport. if you think differently then that is your opion, but do not be a jerk to the ones who enjoy it.

GO SMOKE!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!!
