A BIG hug! And, while he is there send him lots and lots of carepackages. You could also give him a portable playstation, or an i-pod, or a portable dvd player.. My husband just got back from Iraq, and he loved having that stuff! They get bored over there a lot, while they are on their down time. Give you're brother my best.

Simple things like stationery and stamps with envelopes are useful and appreciated items. Maybe something else special like a picture of the two of you. Reminders of good friends and family can help soldiers through homesickness which will inevitably come from being in a stressful situation far from home.

A portable dvd player and collection of movies; commit to take care of something he needs to leave behind. ie. a car payment, his dog, if he has family (children) perhaps you could regularly send him short video's via the internet so he can see them on a regular basis. Don't participate in hateful conversations about our military in strange countries, I doubt that you would; I just find it so disrespectful.

Something durable, something that reminds them that they are doing a great job over there, or something that would remind them of home/you.
