Yes, it's a really good antibiotic cream for a dog.

Yes, but only if you know what you are doing. It is true that they will lick it off if they can. First of all, never try it on a serious wound, never use Just neosporin, you want to clean the wound first. Neosporin will rub into the skin if you work it in long enough, and as long as it doesn't hurt the dog. Thats the way you wanna use it so the dog can't lick it off. Also, don't waste your time trying to use it on a dog with thick fur, like a chow chow, the hair will get mixed up in and cause irritation and it will bother the dog more than it helps. With a chow or something like it, take it to the vet so the area can be shaved to ensure comfort while healing.

Yes but realistically it isn't needed in most cases and there are problems that could occur if the dog ingests it. I feel safer waiting for an infection to occur then treating all the time prior to the infection.
You are better to wash to wound carefully with warm water and mild soap designed for cleaning open wounds. Not bleach, hydrogen peroxide or alcohol; it will damage the healing tissue.

Yes, absolutely. In fact, it would be a really good idea to do so. My cats have gotten their own share of cuts and scratches, and it's always worked. Plus, it doesn't sting too much.
You also might want to try another antibiotic along with it, but just follow your vet's advice depending on how serious the wound is.

Yes! And it works well if it is a small wound, anything larger than a dime I would let your vet take care of!
But before you put it on, wash the wound thoroughly with salt water, and pat dry.

Wash it with salt water, best sterile, like the kind you use for contact lenses. Then, put some neosporin on it and since dogs like to eat it, wrap in a tissue, then a layer of packaging tape.

no because the dog will lick it off immediately and neosporin is a topical antibiotic and should not be taken internally. See your vet and see what he says. I believe he will give the dog a shot of penicilin and the wound will clear up by itself.
