Buddy, in my family it is a CURSE handed down from generation to generation....each one figures they are the ones that have suffered the most....God it is such a nightmare! And the drama never ends. I can tell you there should be some kind of shot for the craziness!!

My great-grandmother was crappy to her kids & left them. My grandmother was crappy to my mom & moved away and hasn't spoken to her since 1984....and my mom? Well, we barely speak and have gone as long as 6 years with no contact. With my Mom & Grandmother it is all about control...and how much they have over you. Heaven forbid you have an independant thought or do something for yourself with out their clearence!!! It drives me nuts. And of course I am the monkey in the middle who tries to do the right thing and gets kicked in the teeth all the time from all sides. So I have given up. I surrender...I refuse to be part of the drama and heartache anymore!! I have declaired my INDEPENDANCE from them.

I have three wonderful girls of my own and the insanity of my family stops here...with me. I refuse to be like them so I have virtually no contact any longer and my mental health is much better...and my family is much happier. If your family is the same...run do not walk to the nearest exit...or next state if possible. Life is much better on the other side!

I say....

keep out of it.
They had problems long before you came into the picture.

Always have, always will.

Don't get too involved, b/c it can ruin your relationship with one of them. You can comfort them; but stay away from the drama.
