Peroxide is an atiseptic which means it kills germs. It's also a bleaching agent and can hep to whiten teeth. Some people use it when they brush. Or it can be use as a gargle for sore throat. I guess it depends on what you're trying to do.

Well, I don't know much about peroxide on teeth, but I do know that the listerine whitening mouthwash uses hydrogen peroxide to whited your teeth. It is a good, healthy way to whiten your teeth without damaging your enamel. So yes, it is good, but I don't know if it has the same affect as listerine whitening.

Hydrogen peroxide (the kind you typically find in a grocery store) can be used as an oral rinse, however using it regularly is not recommended, as repeated use can irritate or "burn" gums. Additionally, studies have shown that it has no theraputic effect on gingivitis or plaque. (see http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?cmd=Retrieve&db=PubMed&list_uids=2095312&dopt=Abstract ) It isn't as powerful of a bleaching agent or whitener as the regular whitening products available.

I use it everyday when I brush my teeth. It is a cheap way to whiten them. I have been doing it for years and have never had a problem.
