I've always had pretty strong abs but this is ridiculous. It's only been a week I should feel something. I don't feel I've done anything if I'm not a little sore. Maybe I should up the number of reps. Any thoughts?

I thought someone might think that. I do them slowly hold for about 3 seconds and really concentrate on the abs so that im not using my shoulder or neck. I have absolutely no pain in my neck or shoulders afterward.

It all depends on what exercise you are doing to work your abs, being there are alot of different ab workouts you can do to pin
point certain area's of the ab's In order to feel the burn.

Being that you are doing 200 ab crunches and not feeling any burn will have little effect on the abs being that the muscles are having very little strain on them. I would recommend doing Bicycle's.

1. Lie face up on the floor and lace your fingers behind your head.
2. Bring the knees in towards the chest and lift the shoulder blades off the ground without pulling on the neck.
3. Straight the left leg out to about a 45-degree angle while simultaneously turning the upper body to the right, bringing the left elbow towards the right knee.
4. Switch sides, bringing the right elbow towards the left knee.
5. Continue alternating sides in a 'pedaling' motion.

If you can tough out 200 of them everyday for awhile you will have ab's in no time. And of course If no burn after doing them for awhile Increase the number.

maybe your not doing them right. no offesse but in grade school most kids are taught the wrong way to do crunches. it not a race to see who can get done first. go slower on your push up when you get to the point where your shouldblades are off the florr hold that position until your finished sings your abc's if this doesnt get your abs hurting then you have somethings' going wrong.also most people dont usuannly put their arms in the right position your ams go over your pecs if your a guy and the upper part of your breastsi your a girl.

oh and you could also try somethin where yourin a push up position and you lay your fore arms flat and keep your back sraight like a puch up with out the pushing up.

Have you heard of the reverse bicycle with a twist?

Lay on the floor on your back.
Raise your hips up so that your feet are facing the ceiling
Now bend your knees towards your chest
Keeping your hands towards your chest, point your elbows towards your knees.
Now by pulling with your stomach muscles pull your chest towards your knees, alternating left elbow with right knee, then right elbow to left knee, try to touch your elbow to your knee.

This will take effort by your stomach muscles (upper, lower & obliques), back muscles, hip muscles, gluts and thigh muscles.

Some people keep their back off of the floor the entire time but you will get better results if between each set you lower yourself back to the floor.

Although this exercise is similar to crunches you will see much better results, much more quickly and with a heck of a lot less reps.

try getting a decline bench or something of the type and hold a weight across your chest then do sit-ups, you will feel that the next morning

Maybe you are not doing them properly? I would be in so much if I did that many crunches... so I really don't know. But like I said you may not be doing them properly.
