I am part of my YMCA teen leaders club and we are trying to find out what are some events or activities we can take part in to help the community and its people. i would really appriciate your in-put. thank you! :)

Go fishing with handicapped kids.

-tutoring younger students
-environmental community service (plant trees, community clean ups, etc)
-concert or some kind of event featuring various talents in the community, sell tickets and donate money to charity.
-After school program for kids or teens
-host a charity walk or run
-organize an event for young adults to come together and bond.
-help the elderly at a nursing home
-organize a program for students to job-shadow specific careers.
-donate goods to the needy
-plan a community parade

Do something fun and meaningful... such as holding an event for charity... but don't just make a charity box and ask people to add money... do something fun such as holding a pizza night or a small fair... something people can have fun at while contributing to society at the same time.

Volunteering with the Church Activites where each groups
make stuff for ( Bake Sales ) & plan Bible Studies together
also do Special projects for American Red Cross Orginization "

Help the elderly with yard work or housework that they can't manage for themselves.

Plant flowers around trees on public sidewalks.

Clean up a city or state park.

do a trash clean up day, visit an elderly home, visit a children's hospital and spend time with the kids, go to schools to talk to young kids about not making mistakes when they are older (drugs alcohol, peer pressure, etc.)

Ask for donations for something then send it to whatever you are donating for (cancer hospital in your city, etc.).

Cleaning up a highway or picking up trash in your park or something like that.

Volunteer work somewhere.

Stuff like that.

-Habitat for Humanity
-regular visits to a senior center or nursing home
-assisting with/ if your community has shared gardens
there are bunches waiting for you and folks who will appreciate you when you do find what you want to do!
