I know I do, but people never knows what to say when I ask why they do or don't. If you don't believe, please don't defend your opinion saying that there isn't any proof, that is NOT a valid argument. I expect intelligent answers, if you will...

Yes, I totally believe in God and his existence. Why?

The whole creation did not come on its own. If we understand the chronology behind the creation of the cosmos... we shall understand why I believe in the existence of God.

Bhagavad Gita... the doctrine put forward by Lord Krishna (an Avatar) in the battlefield of Mahabharata explicitly gives the definition of god as, "the sum total of all purified souls atmans in the cosmos at a given point of time". And what does this mean?

At the time of big bang when the cosmos is being created, God Almighty (the sum total of all purified souls atmans) explodes. All individual souls' atmans start their journey at unbelievable speeds throughout the cosmos. On the way they gather impurities.

These souls atmans need to manifest a body to work out their karma... it is only then these souls' atmans can come back to their original pristine pure form. And amongst all the souls atmans present on Mother Earth one has taken the body of you and also me. In the circumstances can we still deny the existence of God?

Every living being is an integral part of God Almighty. If an individual soul atman is a piece of puzzle... God Almighty himself is the completed puzzle. Every soul atman is but a minuscule form of God Almighty. If we exist, God Almighty also exists! More on god - http://www.godrealized.com/god.html

Well, flowers and birdies and my dog and all that...

but mainly because when I'm writing, I get the distinct impression that inspiration is flowing into me and flowing out through my words and that's divine. When I'm really in the zone, I know it's not me "thinking" about what to write, it's something much greater.

BTW: as far as a valid argument, you believe or don't believe in something based on FAITH, not on proof. There's no proof one way or another that God exists, at least not scientific proof (verifiable and repeatable results.)

If you had proof that God exists, you'd KNOW. You wouldn't believe.

So you can believe or not based on the fact that there's no proof either way. But you can't say you KNOW there's no God just because there's no proof of God's existence.

Conversely, you can't say that God exists because there's no proof AGAINST God's existence.

I will say that my idea of "God" is not as detached as most Christians--I'm more of a deist, seeing divinity in people and the world around me rather than some guy with a beard off in heaven somewhere. I don't see God as a separate entity.

I believe in God because it makes no sense coming from nothing... science proves that God exists, because the study of Nature as showed its perfect side.
The perfectness of nature is a proof (look at the animals how they live, example: Birds, they go out in the morning wthout any food, how can they "always" come back with food for them, and for their children...
when i say perfect nature means, everything is there for a human being to use, for good or for evil. The sun shines evry morning, the moon normally comes in the night to still give us light. Does this look like it is coincidence to you?

Many messengers and prophets of God came with one message, there is no God worthy of worship but Allah (one God), whether you read it in the bible, or in the Quran (or maybe other religious books).
The miracles and prophecies shows us that it is the truth, and that some will believe and some won't.
The guidance is in the "hands" of Allah, if Allah wants he would guide everyone.
Does an assassin deserve punishment in this earth, or maybe the rapist, or someone that hurts any living creature in some way or another.
Well Allah is most mercifull in the the day of Judgement only some people will be saved... God saves whom he wills... but if we deviate, and we don't follow the prophets that came to you with the truth, then how can we be saved?
God knows best...
Mohammad was the last real messenger, we can see that just by looking at the world today... look at the miracle...
A lot of people are trying to make Islam look bad, isn't it strange that even more people are reverting to Islam now?
God is with the oppressed...

God guide all of you, to find the truth... without keeping to arrogance.
Lets worship Allah my brothers and sisters, and ask for the guidance of mankind.

OK, no I don't believe. I realized I was forcing myself to believe things I knew were not true. I found that the only way I could be true to myself was to become an atheist.

Why is no proof not a valid argument?

There is no evidence that there is a god. No evidence essentially means that someone made it up. It is not reasonable to believe in things without any evidence. You would be stuck with every ridiculous thing that human imagination could come up with.

Not believing in god is the same as not believing in Zeus, Odin, Santa, Anubis, the Tooth Faerie, and all the thousands of others since the evidence is exactly the same. I would be no less surprised if someone found evidence of Bacchus than I would be if they found evidence of your god.

There is NO proof that god exists. I believe in Charles Darwin's theory of Evolution. Ive read the origin of species and I think Darwin supports his reasoning very well, unlike the bible which just tells exaggerated stories.

Do you know what it took to even ask the question? You have a physical machine called a body that is able to use its mind to ponder the question, relay visual information from a physical world of comparable low-tech computers through the optic nerve, into the brain, with the mind to comprehend the ramifications, then transfer that thought process to an incredibly complex systems of nerves, tendons, and touch to the fingers to type the letters. This then communicates a question of the soul. The soul is something that science cannot a.) explain and b.) create. It can only mimic with unsatisfactory results. That soul is concerned for the existence of an eternal destiny beyond time and space--that there is a world beyond the physical world we see in the here and now. You are an incredible creation who has been given the free will choice to believe, or not believe. A being that can love, write poetry, paint or play works of incredible complexity and beauty. To smell, and taste, enjoy. So, like you, I set out on a path to find my Creator. It is obvious that He exists, but is He personal or an impersonal force? My answer came through the study of prophecy in the Bible. Like the DNA strand and life itself, it was hard to dispute the evidence. Now with the realization of the truth of the Bible, God made it clear that He was not only a personal God, but One who wanted to know ME, and that He knew everything about me--even the number of every hair on my head.

Ephesians 3
For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height-- to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Yea i do, i feel him work in me and take away my depression.
I was into satanism and i said to myself "God aint real" but one day i went to church and i saw God was real, i felt something inside me... i know it was the holy spirit. Made me cry that night come to think of it. After that i became a Christian.

So when people ask this Q ... tell em how you came to God. How he works in you and what he has blessed you with ect ect.

*Gulp*

This question was literally asked 17 minutes ago.

*Sigh*

And here I wasn't going to be drinking before dinner. . . . :0)

Yes! I believe in God! For those who don't, they don't. It is inconcieveable to me how one could deny His existence, but many do, just as was foretold.

But they have free will just like us, so why can't we leave this dead horse alone? It's been beaten quite thoroughly.

I hope I don't sound too cranky, but it's dinner time for me!
