first of all its not only mexicans. lets say hispanics. i own that movie and i thought it was funny. but it had a bit of truth to it. we "hispanics" take jobs that nobody else wants. we are the ones that pick the fruit, that clean your house and take care of your children. and for less that what is owed to them. they just want to work, i have seen many americans that are on unemployment and wont take a job or start a job and quit after a day or two. they are looking for the easy jobs. not the ones where you have to work hard for the money. hispanic are not afraid of a little hard work. thats why many companies would prefer a hispanic over an american. or african americans.

There were more than just blacks doing those jobs. Quit trying to ride on their coat-tails......
Americans from all over did those jobs and still do those jobs and would do them again if the illegals left. We're all replaceable so don't try patting yourself on the back too hard. The last "day without a Mexican" was fine. The world still rotated, the sun came up again and nothing came crashing down........the stores were still packed, the roads still teaming with people, the economy didn't crash, shopping was more enjoyable...........not a ripple of disturbance.

This same scenario has happened in Mexico with the indians there but it did not result the same as what the african americans did for the U.S. What is going to happen if the rate of illegal immigration is going to continue, is the U.S. will become a country only two economic levels, very poor and very rich with nothing in between as it is in Mexico at this moment.

One of the arguments for allowing illegal workers to remain without penalty at their jobs is the misconception that American citizens will not take these often labor-intensive, low-paying positions. In Southeastern Virginia alone, there are hundreds of people with severe developmental disabilities who would love the chance to work and earn a paycheck, but are being denied that right because of misconceptions and discrimination.
Why are employers hiring illegal immigrants in favor of hiring American citizens with disabilities? Either they are unaware of this huge available pool of people, or they feel it would be too time consuming or expensive to train and/or supervise these individuals. They could not be more wrong. In fact, hiring people with severe disabilities saves corporations thousands, even millions of dollars each year.
According to the Disability Funder’s Network website, people with disabilities constitute the largest minority group in the United States--crossing lines of age, ethnicity, gender, race, sexual orientation and socioeconomic status. They also report that the majority of people with disabilities are poor due to lack of opportunities.

Working gives people with disabilities self-esteem, pride, and a purpose in life. Many of the people at CSS would be sitting in institutions literally doing nothing, if they were not provided a work opportunity and a chance at a better life. 20.3 million Americans with severe disabilities are unemployed. Make no mistake about it, the disability community is in a crisis right now, but there is a very clear solution.

If employers across the US are looking for cost-effective, skilled and unskilled labor, they need to do this country a favor and hire Americans with severe disabilities. It will not only provide them with a federal tax credit, but it will enhance their image as diversity and empowerment leaders.

People with severe disabilities deserve a chance to be contributing members of their communities. Their work ethic, dedication, talents, and abilities will far surpass anyone on the payroll who is there legally or not.

The Spanish government once expelled all the jewish people from Spain. The Spanish economy collapsed overnight. Many people in the UK want to pull out of their agreements with Europe. This would cause similar economic catastrophe. Why is it that racists know EXACTLY how to destroy, but never how to create?

yes, except that there was a big gap between the end of slavery in the 1860s to the influx of mexicans in the 1940s and we managed to do just fine on our own... I mean, my mom (who is white) was growing up during that time, and she picked tomatoes for a couple of years, and then did maid work while she went to college. So we are willing to do the work.

In the movie "a day without a mexican" the mexicans suddenly dissapeared. In reality if all illegal immigrants were deported it would take several years and the economy would have plenty of time to adjust. Don't underestimate the power of our economy and markets to adjust to a change in the labor market.

Mexicans do not need to refer to them selves to the blacks who was in slavery. big difference there bud. the blacks did not ask to be brought here, the illegal Mexicans are making there own choice to be here. and is excepting the pay they get. we can live with out illegals of all races.

I saw the movie. It was just a parody that only applied to California, not the entire US. The nannies, dishwashers and a rock star disappeared. It just proved all the more to me that the US doesn´t need illegals.

Wow, you should watch your choice of words.

It isnt all Mexicans that are messing up the economy its the ILLEGALS... and Illegals arent just Mexicans they are from every race, color, and background.

Another thing, all the Illegals are doing the work us lazy, proud Americans refuse to do.
Not saying illegals are okay.

But our government needs a better way of dealing with these problems.
